Call me antisocial, but I adore traveling alone. And if I'm planning a getaway that includes sipping cafe au lait in Paris, savoring bistecca alla fiorentina in Florence or strolling through the colorful streets of old Nice, I'm that much more thrilled when experiencing these pleasures on my own.

Maureen, the more I read your stories, the more excited I get about my future travel plans--especially doing them "solo"!

I share the same sentiments with you. I enjoy traveling with my friends sometimes, but I love traveling alone as well. I think people find you much more approachable that way. Your article has me waiting anxiously for my next trip.

I hope more women like you realize what a joy it is to get out there on your own. I agree about the increased approachability factor... I have met people who have (or likely will) become great friends and contacts because I met them while I was out and about on my own. BON VOYAGE on your own next solo adventure!
