From a purely technical point of view, basing an US F1 team at the Paul Ricard circuit has its advantage and its drawback.

Paul Ricard is often used as a test track and offer good weather almost all year round. It belongs to Bernie Ecclestone, incidentally, so that could be an indication of his interest in the team joining the GP grid. But, testing time has been reduced by the new rules, therefore the advantage of being located near a test track is now marginal.

Opposed to that is the distance between Paul Ricard and the F1 'technical valley' which is in the heart of England. It's no wonder why Austrian and French teams are based in the Midland or thereabouts. It's where most of F1 suppliers and subcontractors are based, where Cosworth -the engine supplier for USF1 resides, and where most of the experienced GP staff can be recruited.

From a logistic point of view, it's doubtful if Paul Ricard (near Marseilles) is better located for international flights to the Far East, the Middle East and eventually North America than London-Heathrow.

The choice of Paul Ricard is puzzling, to say the least for a US team, and I am not even mentioning the language and culture problem encountered by the American staff.

I think that you would find very few French workers able to discuss technical issues in English.
F1 is a HIGHLY technical environment.

Most of French mechanics, technicians or engineers who worked in F1 have been groomed in UK, some in the USA.

Also, the guys who lead the USF1 team come from Britain.

Do you think Peter Windsor, who was Williams F1 manager in the past, can't speak English correctly?

PW speaks correctly, except with poofty accent that nobody understand.
are you saying that those working around F1 must speak english only and there´s no frenchie who would understand the technical parts ?

Well, if you want to work for a US team, I would think the lingo will be English, and many French have a problem with that!
