France's 'other' side -

Good summary; southern coast outstanding for neolithic buffs; pack the Cadogan guide to Brittany and leave the rest of your travel books home. For a weeklong stay, rent a house or apartment thru Gites de France and day trip. Try the cider; very local and very delicious with Bretagne's food.

Great article. I haven't been to Brittany yet, but I've wanted to go there and Normandy for years to see the medieval sites.
Too many times I think tourists go to Paris and think they've seen France. I've been to Paris a few times, but I would prefer Colmar -- I've been there twice and if I have a choice, I'll go there again before I return to Paris. Of course, Brittany and area will also be high on the list. |
