Mystified by Koons's success? Afraid to admit that you think his work is puerile, superficial and derivative? Loathe to buck the decadent art-crit system that holds him as an exemplar of artistic merit?

Read Tom Wolfe's "The Painted Word," an insightful 1975 social commentary and send-up of the artliterati.

Can't focus long enough to actually locate and read a book? Here's an excerpt that may help:

Or, you can rent the movie "Art School Confidential."

Wow, I'm amazed that the governor would want to intermingle himself with Koons. Koons is certainly not the role model I want my son to have...I wonder if the governor is familiar with Koon's work, Red Butt? Go ahead...Google it...you will be shocked that any politician would embrace this smarmy con artist.

-and whoo are you?-that comes from Oregon?-with a comment to a local York Pa kid! you must be searching, finding and care enough to put your nonsense comment here.

FYI- York Pa has "artists" from all mediums and "needs" reports of recognition from the local newspapers.

I find it very interesting that he has found his "artistic niche" and he has found his way to show it.- you sound like a jealous knucklehead- from Oregon... NOT York PA!!
Best of luck Jeff- I will know to follow your endeavors through google. Thanks to YDR- I have been introduced to you.

When is Jeff coming to the Netherlands too. So he can curated the Frank Dammers American Painting Collection ( http://www.fdammersfineart.com ).
Frank is owner from Gallery 1951 but also the First Registered Artist of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center, New York.

Have you ever actually looked at any of Koons's work? Or is it enough to know that he's a hometown guy who makes millions? "Everyone agrees ..." is probably enough, huh? Typical Yorker attitude. And, yes, I once lived there, among you stay-behinds and never-wills.

That's art? It looks like two blow up toys stuck in a fence. Sort of like what you would see everyday in Red Lion.

I say kudos to Jeff for fighting his way to the top! Art and beauty are in the eye of the beholder and obviously everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Each person is entitled to their opinion (as proven by these posts). I grew up in Dover and am proud to call it my home, eventhough I don't live there anymore. Going back to visit my friends and classmates makes me happy! Some of the nicest people I know are from this area! Many people from the area have relocated to other parts of the country and succeeded in journalism, art, business and many other areas, but there are just as many who have stayed in the area and become successful! Why do you people put the area and people down???? GROW UP!! Do I like Jeff's art? Some of it "Yes" and some of it "No", but he has taken his love of art and made it his own!
