I think exactly the opposite is true. Kimi tends to shine when he drives a weaker car and you don't expect too much from him.

Kimi didn´t have the best car - far from it, but its absolutely´enjoyable to look at his driving. There is something great about the iceman. One can literally feel Kimi´s passion for competing at F1. Great entertainemnt from the silent Finn.

Im a Kimi Fan, and he has done better with a non-top of the log cars, than Micheal Shumacher (sorry Micheal) so far in fewer races ????

Lotus is building the car according to what Kimi likes. The front suspension should now be the way he wants it.

Interesting fact is that Räikkönen wanted Mark Slade as his race engineer. He tried to get Slade with him to Ferrari without succeeding. Slade jumped from Mercedes to Lotus once he got the call.

Räikkönen's justification is that Slade knows exactly what he wants.

And of course it's better to go to a new team with someone familiar.

Lotus has been impressive so far. They seem to concentrate on the important things, such as building the car based upon the feedback they get from their driver. They can go far if they continue like this.
