Jorgen....Regarding Lewis not being per se a rookie to F1, because he had received 10 years of support from Mclaren is an absurd statement. If that was the case then Nelson Piquet Jr. and Nico Rosberg wouldn't be considered as being rookies in the initial year when they entered F1, because they both received long term financial support from their fathers, from karting to GP2, as Hamilton did from Mclarem.

Oh....Sebastian Vettel had been supported by Red Bull since 1999, when he entered the Red Bull junior program at the age of 12, and Lewis started at Mclaren at the age of 11.

Remember this, during that 10 year period, if Lewis didn't meet Mclaren's expectations they would have dropped him in a minute, something that Piquet Jr, and Rosberg didn't have to consider, because of their fathers Keke Rosberg and Nelson Piquet Sr.

Alonso wasn't worried about Lewis as much as he was worried by the treatment he had from the team and how they let Lewis go his way every time !!

Alonso can handle adversity ... and he's always willing to help his teammates and team .. 2007 was a different story because of the RD&LH association + the British media !!

Hi I agree Kimi will not be a problem for McLaren. If he is the best, so be it (and Kimi is a hell of lot better than people give him credit for!!!) Lewis, on the other hand, well that is different matter. Time will tell! I am not so sure he would look kindly at being beaten (if that happens to be the case)
BUT a couple of things about 2007: Lewis has been brought up in the McLaren team for over 10 Years. He was not a rookie per se.
Fernando, who has an extensive background as a tester, gave Hamilton all the data to help him set up his car in the beginning of the season.
OK, this was done to show team spirit and not realising that:
A: he (Fernando) was not going to be given nr.1 status and
B: Hamilton is damned fast and NOT a rookie.
McLaren always insists that there is no nr. 1 driver, but interesting to see how this year, all the upgrades has been on Lewis' car first and then on Heikki's later. Go figure!
My bet is that the competition between Hamilton and Kimi is a lot lot closer than people think.
Fernando and Massa? Well, if Ferrari has got any sense they find Fernando a good and fast teamplayer and fast.(Rubens or Heikki springs to mind) Time has shown that Formula 1 is a teamsport. This is (partly) how Michael could snatch all his championships.
The myth that Alonso gave Hamilton all the data to help him with setups is exactly that a....myth. Alonso had Hamilton excluded from a scheduled test session for the up-coming race at the Spanish GP, because of the trouncing he had taken from Hamilton at Bahrain. Alonso would hardly as you say, " gave Hamilton all the data to help him set up his car ".........Nonsense!!!

Most teams gave their first upgrades to their faster driver, and a reason for that could have been due to the lack of testing for all teams. A major gripe by Piquet Jr. was that Alonso received the first upgrades in which he then received at a later time... Go figure..... Renault doing that to Piquet Jr.

That's what you want to believe !!!... it is not a myth ... Alonso stopped sharing his telemetry when he knew he wasn't getting equal treatment !!!..forget it ... we were there in 2007 .. it seems you missed that seasson !!!

Well if he has been #1 since 13.
They failed him in 2007 when they realized he could do a better job
than Fannie from the get go without the huge salary.
They should have sidelined Juan-zero and taken Lewis to the championship.
Mclaren was good for Lewis for 13yrs but now its time for Papa smurf (Hamilton)
To find a way to take Hamilton away from that team.
They are wasting time trying to show people they have equal treatment at Mclaren.
Ferrari wasted no such time when they realised the potential of schmucky schumie.
1st case in point. How many times does Heikki have to say, he can't drive the stupid car?
no matter how many times he says it after his bad results. All the monkeys will always say
its because lewis has been given an advantage.
Secondly the lie gate scandal came out from this need Mclaren has to show they are doing the right thing.
&fe ature=related
Acting like total amateurs afraid of putting a foot wrong because they are scared of the FIA.
Its time to stop trying to convince the monkeys.
Its clear to anyone that is honest. Hamilton can do more with the car at the limit
Than any of the other monkeys that make up the grid.
Its time to bring Hami out of the "absolutely want to look righteous" Mclaren team.
find a team that wants to spend big money to win. Provide Lewis the pay and the number 1 status.
and get on with the business of domintating the sport and collecting championships.
