I wonder how many people in the stands fainted from excitement when there was more than one pass for the lead.

A contridiction on the part of F1 - did Robert break his leg, or does he have no apparent injuries? Either way, after watching the crash, I'm happy to hear he survived... His crash brought back frightening images of Gonzolo Rodriquez driving his Penske machine head-on into the wall at the top of the Cork Screw at Laguna Seca, and then Gregg Moore tumbling helplessly across the ground, and into a retaining wall at Fontana... Both were not as fortunate as Robert...

Great race, regardless; and congrats to Lewis for picking up where JPM should have been.

I couldn't be happier for Lewis and the whole Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team! I've been a McLaren fan through the good times and the bad (more of the bad times in the last decade than the good I'm afraid) and it's great to see them finally doing well. Thank goodness the whole Newey-Raikkonen-Montoya mess is behind us! I've been watching Lewis for the last years in the lower series and I new he would be a championship contender his first year out. I don't think anyone could have imagined it would go this well though. Keep the wins coming at Indy, and most importantly, beat Fererri into submission!

On a more serious note, I hope Robert Kubica has a speedy recovery and can run at the USGP.

SAVE THE USGP!!!

What a wild race.... congrats to Lewis Hamilton on a well earned win, and a big thumbs up to all the safety workers at the track, especially those who responded to Kubica's crash. That was a truly scary one, and the course marshals & safety crews where right there soon as they could get there. Nice work, guys.

Yes, congratulations to Lewis Hamilton. But I had to laugh this morning when Chris Profett on Ch. 13 announced that Englishman Lewis Hamilton was the first African-American to win in F-1. Chris, I don't think there have been too many English, African-Americans since the revolution... D'oh!

Now that was funny. I am happy that we are not seeing the racist posts that we usually see on the Indy star website. Whether you think that it is a big deal or not this was important for F-1

As many have said, it wasn't a matter of if, but when he would win. In a lot of ways he handles the car like a veteran racer. I wouild not be surprised to see him win the Drivers Championship this year. Congratulations to Lewis indeed. One comment I must make though, when I watch Lewis Hamilton in his yellow helmet I get Ayrton Senna deja'vu. Let's hope the USGP is as interesting as the Canadian GP was.

I guess that would be "Afro-Engander" The media are going to have a ball trying to figure out what Lewis Hamilton is!

As an African-American, I'm having a ball with it.

Black, white or whatever, I do beleive we are looking at the next great driver in F1. That Lewis is black only helps auto racing in general and will only help the sport as a whole. Its nice as an American to see Lewis at the top of the podium. When they played the British anthem, I sang "My Country Tis Of Thee!"

Go Lewis!

CEO - re Kubica - he broke his leg & had concussion but it could have been ALOT worse. I screamed when watching that in all my many years of following F1 I can't remember the last time there was such a horrid crash in recent years.

Lewis is pure class, he will bring home the championship, constructors & drivers, home to Britain. x x x

Afro-Carribean would be the correct term as Lewis's father comes from Grenada originaly, but British would suit him just fine. I've got my ticket for Silverstone and I can't wait!

Does anyone else think it looks odd that the Vodafone McLaren team celebrates in red colors? The look like Ferrari w/ silver sleeves...

Either way congrats to Lewis, no matter how young he is...
