The seven-time world champion, who retired at the end of the 2006 season, clocked a best lap time of 1 minute, 21.489 seconds from 90 laps completed in his Ferrari F2007 at the Circuit de Catalunya.

"It's winter and the low temperatures help the car run faster," Schumacher said. "We must also bear in mind that we are now at the end of the season and many aspects of the car have been improved."

Former teammate and current Ferrari driver Felipe Massa went around in 1:22.044 in the same model car.

6 tenths.

Schumacher clocked a time of 1:21.486 actually. Impressive to be fastest two days in a row like that.
