Big blow for Jacques for sure I have followed his career since toyota atlantic. Bill Davis is not the ideal team for a outsder to break into Nascar. Being a french canadian is an obstacle that Jacques unfairly has to contend with. Patrick Capantier was lucky that his owner i believe is or has strong ties to Canada I wish Pat well. Villenueve is a class act and i hope things work out well for him

Jacques career in Nascar is not over. He is just taking a break, a step back to come again better prepared and with a better agent. Mr Pollock has been great for him in F1 and the Europe arena but things are hugely different in the USA and Nascar and it is no wonder that Jacques has ousted his former agent but alone, there is nothing he could have done. He needs a strong individual who will work with him and for him. Someone with a lots of contacts in companies from North America. Without this, I am afraid Jacques will have a lot of difficulties to come back despite his undeniable talent as a race driver. I hope him the best.

It's a bit to early to rule him out of Nascar. A lot will depend on who and what is knocking on his door. It already looks like his return to LeMans is scheduled for June.
He may be an outsider, but if he wishes to really fight his way into Nascar, sooner or later doors will open.
Richard Petty said non Americans bring nothing to Nascar, not even sponsorships, and we can do just fine without them. " the King has spoken" yeah right !

I guess If Jacques married his second cousin he might fit in with the rest of the bumper car drivers in Nascar. Unless you're from the southern states you have no business being in Nascar, apparently. How I long for the days before the IRL Cart fued, when open wheel racing dominated the landscape.

"It is sad when talent such as Jacques Villeneuve are subject to the mentality of the good old south, they did not even give him a chance, no sponsorhip, he is gone, because Nascar continues to be a sport with a suthern influence, were outsiders are not welcome, Shame on Nascar, shame on BIll Davis racing"
Comme on! Why not admit that it's hard for a formula 1 driver to addapt to Nascar racing. This is not just a big line up of expensive car, here we talk about hard racing, sommetime 3 or 4 wide at speed close of 200mph. A serious driver who understand it don't thik he can use taladega race for practice session.
This has nothing to do with discrimination and racism in Nascar

Slap a 454 in the family station wagon and jacques could compete against those farmers. He just needs to change his last name to something the announcers can pronounce to be accepted.

If Juan Pablo can fit in NASCAR with the current feelings in the U.S. towards those south of the boarder, I'm sure if Jacques had come in with a better team he'd have been accepted. Running fast and qualifing will cure alot of prejudice.

Next time he needs to spend some time in the Nationwide or Craftsman Series and get use to driving those dump trucks instead of the high tech machines he's used to.

As a Canadian living in the states, comments charging discrimination are ridiculous. If that was the case Carpentier would be racing snowmobiles in Quebec this year.

Jacques team was unable to secure sponsorship after contacting a number of major CANADIAN organizations. Just because Canada abandons one of their greatest don't take the typical path that many Canadians take of blaming those south of the border.
