Crap. Villenerve was good but not great, he won the title in a far superior car with a teamate who was like a little mouse, and he made hard work of that.
Raikkonen would have bagged the title in 05 were it not for terrible reliability. He is faster than Villenerve ever was and is maybe the fastest driver on the F1 grid. If the Ferrari is as good as the Mclaren & Renault and it stays reliable Raikkonen will get the job done and he will overtake Villenerve's tally of win's.

Who´s Villeneuve now anyway? I always read something he said about someone else ... instead of focus on his own job, hes not good anymore, and who cares about what he said.
Go Kimmi!!!

Exactly yesikisima! Since when did Villeneuve become the F1 authority.
He has his own hands full keeping his own race car on track. At best, he just got lucky the year when he won his title!
Kimi has proven that he is an amazing driver, I'd be frustrated too if my car blew up every single race and I wish him all the best this season with Ferrari!

I agree/ I think Kimi is a very good driver and look forward to seeing what he can do with a good car. I just wish I could understand him better during the interviews!:)

Hey Viper6 i agree with you there but unfortunately all fins take with that monotone . I have a buddy in SA that's FIN and he speaks the same just with an SA accent, But all things said i really hope that he gets it together this year , because for me its more about the driver than the car. Cars can brake and really make a driver look bad (kimi the last few years) so yeh like i said lets hope him and the rest of the field don't have to many mech failures this year and we will then see who really shines

Villeneuve may be right in some of his comments. Michael schumacher's was really talented in the technical aspects, much unlike kimi, kimi's got the speed and ferrari trusts him so hope he proves villeneuve wrong by winning the world championship.

alex ; Michael was talented, ofcourse, but who says that Kimi isn't ?
Check how many times he had technical problems with his McLaren and how many times same thing happened to Michael. The ratio is 1:20.
What did Villeneuve achieve anyway ? A one-time title with really good car. And that was it. He's no one for me, with stupid, egoistic statements like that.
If he's so better and sooo talented, let's check his standings in F1 for the last 5 years :
2002 - 12th place (4 points)
2003 - 16th place (6 points)
2004 - 22nd place (0 points)
2005 - 145th place (9 points)
2006 - 15th place (7 points)
He's just jealous because he can't sign a proper deal with some good team. He's all ego.
He'd deserve a punch in a face for statement like that.
No offense, but let him mind his own business and let others take care about rest. He's a goof that's all.
Good luck Kimi !

Another F1 noob that didnt follow f1 at that time,
JV was most of the time the best of the others (top teams) whit a crappy car.
NOOBS JUST SEE THE RACES RESULTS.
F1 is the elite of racing but also the least competitive of ALL racing.(Gap between the team is too hight)
Allways the best car that win the champions title.

Sure i was following. Now there's one thing that you can answer with straight logic.

If his car back then was so poor, compared to the others, and he won because of his skills only, why the heck he couldn't do that in next 10 years then ?
I mean, he didn't even get close. The best score was 7th place overall after he won the title. How far is that from the 1st position ? Do the math... ;)

And what especially made me laugh was your statement "NOOBS JUST SEE THE RACES RESULTS."

Now you see, if i use your kind of logic, then i could easily declare Kimi for the winner of at least 2 out of 3 last seasons, because he is the top driver, it's only his McLaren that is causing him trouble. But that's pretty confident statement if we all know who won the championship, isn't it ?

As far as i understood you, you're looking for F1 champions from position 10+ and up. Now that's insane.

Most notably Jacques was very critical of new Ferrari star Kimi Raikonnen of which he claimed “Kimi is overrated as a driver package, because apart from jumping in a car and going fast, he really doesn’t care about the rest.”

This guy is really an idiot he goes on to say

A complete driver will spend time with the engineers, setting up the car and pushing the team. He doesn’t give a shit, so he isn’t up there with Alonso. In a way it’s good for F1 to have a driver like that - you can’t just have robots”.

Looks to like Kimi is the only normal person in F1 according to JV the rest of the drivers are just robots!!!!! Way to go man .
No wonder BMW chased him away he contradicts himself all the time , the poor mechanics would be totaly confused ,because they would never know how to set the car up for him...

If i was his mechanic, i would have cut off his car's brake connection and let him die on the track so that the team remains happy.

Here goes Villeneuve with "Sour Grapes" again....Can't be happy for anyone other than himself. Him and Montoya should start breaking bread together.
It really illustrates a lack of class.
Kimi is definitely there because he deserves to be there, granted he's no Michael and he will have some big shoes to fill....I'm sure he'll give it his best!
