That was truly amazing what Jacque Villenueve did! Qualifying 6'th on the grid and then having the thought of mind of selflessly starting at the back of the field to not get in anyones way! I give kudos to all of the rookies who were in the race! David Reutimann qualifyng 5'th and running good all day till he got caught up in a wreck, Arik Almirola did a good job in a cup car and Juan Pablo Montoya looked to have a top three finish until that train of cars passed him pushing him back to 15th on the final lap! lol poor Juan! hehe, He's definitely getting better and better with each race though and he's almost there! I can't wait till the next race, to see how Villeneuve does in that one! Good job! Go J,V!

Yep, Juan was looking really good until politics got involved ;-/. Can't wait till next year either - things are getting interesting in NASCAR w/ Toyota & a bunch of top notch drivers coming into the field. It ain't same ol same ol year after year anymore.

<quoted text>I don't know if it's a sure thing he'll be in the race this weekend. I think they may be holding off which sucks. People will want more of JV that's for sure. He's a great driver and I think the drivers who get to know him will like Jacques. Were Montoya is abrassive Jacques is not. He did choke Montoya once but this was years ago.
True JV is a great driver but i think it's gonna be the same for JV as it was for Monty. At first everyone is very respectful and kissing his ass. And then when JV wrecks someone or is involved in a wreck it's back to the ol "go back to F1" quotes. Yeah JV did choke Monty but did you see Monty smile at JV afterwards? As if to say "is that all you got?" Nobody can intimidate Juan. I would love to see JV choke Harvick.

Yes I saw it JV didn't do much, Montoya rules and I get tired of people dogging him when some of the veteran drivers have wrecked just as much. Yeah he's expected to be good and he is but he's still a rookie. Now with JV I think he should keep it cool with Montoya, Dario and all the new ones. Work with whoever they can he was in Montoyas RV visiting this weekend.

I'd like to see anyone choke Harvick really though.

LOL yeah I dont like to see any harm done to anyone but Harvick deserves it alittle for being an ass. And if harvick does happen to have it out with JV i think my money will on JV by submission. Harvick is a good driver but until he tried other forms of racing and be successful at it like Juan,JV,and Dario he should just keep his mouth shut and just drive. And i mean driving open wheel cars like F1, champ car, indy car,and sports cars like Daytona prototypes etc. Not just a busch or dirt car.

You know I gave Harvick props this year for learning how to drive and hold his tissue at the same time, lol. He has a big mouth and I'd love to see someone stomp him, you noticed he didn't talk trash to Stewart too much after the brickyard, interesting.

What ever happened with that anyway? Did Kevin Harvick eventually realize that he over reacted to that incident with JPM and that he was totally in the wrong? Harvick has such a fast temper that I'm supprised that he didn't start a fight with Tony Kanaan when Harvick got his chocolate in Kanaans peanut butter! lol

I dont think they sold out. Tony Stewart,Jeff Gordon, Kasey kahne, and Ryan Newman are former open wheelers and they are successful in cup. So it's already been done, I just dont know what the big deal is. These are world class drivers wanting a shot at nascar. And are more marketable too. At least give them a chance. It's not like they were forced to join nascar you know. They have a passion for racing and they just want to race. I like the way Scott Speed is doing it. He's going to go full time in Arca and working his way up not rushing it and learning til going to cup, plus he finished 7th at Dega. Mcdowell who finished second in points in the Arca series is a former champ car driver (open wheel). And yes the seats were empty at turn 4 almost up to the tri oval. My guess is 1) the beer can throwers couldnt come to the race cause of being banned or 2) the old school fans are fed up with the rule changes and politics. I pick #2 Yes its sad that the old school fans are leaving, but like they say its not your grandaddys nascar anymore. New fans like me are here. ;)

This is not really a slam at Nascar but open wheel fans are more laid back shall I say. We don't boo drivers, we don't throw beers onto the track and we watch our manners. So it's a win for nascar in that too, hell Nascar may end up to have the best fans when it's said and done. Especially with open wheels fans crossing over, got to get to the point were people aren't saying they're all inbreed bottom feeders. I disagree they all are but that's the consensus right now.
