Scott its time to come home.

so, the final tie is broken...suggest they just quit broadcasting or even reporting anything out of F1 here in the U.S.

Bet he's going to CCWS...but I'll lay a fairly strong wager that we see him at the Speedway in May of '08.

Guess Scott didn't just didn't have enough enough Speed?
Hey Scott Speed jump into an Indy Car !
It seems obvious that the Speed/Toro Rosso combination wasn't working. Toro Rosso has had it's share of mechanical problems (gearbox failures) this year so I don't think it is completly fair to lay all the blame on Scott. But then again, Scott hasn't really produced when there weren't problems. Hopefully we'll have another American driver in F1 soon.
Welcome home Scott! Scott has said that he would like a ride in the Champ Car World Series, as it is a series that will best utilize his extensive talents and provide him with challenges, as he continues to develop as a professional race car driver. He has expressed no interest whatsoever in the Indy Racing League, as he still his high hopes for a future in racing, and such a huge step down would likely be a deathblow to his career. For more information on Scott's future competitors, and to see which venues he will soon be visiting in the worlds premier open wheel racing series, visit: www.champcarworldseries.com |

Not surprising considering his reputation for DNF's. Some people will try to connect this with F1 leaving Indy but that is a stretch at best. If I were Toro Rosso's team principle I would have been looking for a replacement USGP or no USGP. Sorry Scott.
Good idea! If Milka and Little Al don't come back next year I hear that Tony will be adding a 5th and 6th car to his Vision team |
No F1 in USA, no need for an American driver. As Derek Daley says, in F1 the politics are absolutely brutal.
I still think Bernie is a fool to dump the American market; I went to every US GP and the fan base was starting to take off. But instead of courting sponsors for his teams and building a base in the world's largest economy, he'd rather have races in countries where the local dictator/tyrant will line his pocket. |
IRL wants Scott Speed. Screw CCWS!
Well, considering neither of Scott's Toro teammates scored any points, it's very easy to connect the two events. No USGP=No need for a US driver. Good Luck getting a ride Graham Rahal. |
Scott, head to Champ Car. They play follow the leader just like in F1 until someone pits, crashes, or blows up. It's a bit frustrating to drive and simply horrific to watch but that's what you're good at-so keep it going and keep it real.
The lack of points scored reflect more on the Toro Rosso team than any driver employed by them. That team SUX to say the least. M. Schumacher couldn't score points for this team.
I will enjoy watching Scott enjoy racing success back in the US. |
The Torro Rosso equipment is terrible compared to the other F1 teams. The fact that neither driver scored a point and have a number of DNFs should tell you that. The engines are underpowered and reliability a major problem. If you ever read Scott's weekly blog, he continually commented that the equipment was poor and they were just doing their best to run laps to score a point sometime this yr. This dismissal was widely expected.
Looking to the future, I would love to see Penske fund another ride for Scott to compete against Andretti Green. If this happens, 5 to 1 odds Speed gets his first win before Danika. |
great. now he can come to cart and not win and no one will know him in that series either.
Best of luck to Sebastian, he's gonna need it in that career-killer of a car that Toro Rosso runs. Scott had some strong moments in his relatively short time in F1, but in the end, the car was just too awful. As for Speed going to Champ Car, I think it will happen, but wow, what a downgrade. At least the IRL is doing a few things right, and with them adding more road courses onto their schedule, it might be an appealing alternative for him. Honestly, I'd want nothing to do with the CCWS if I were him. What a crappy series. Oh well, we'll see how Sebastian does with a full time ride. He was impressive at the USGP I thought.
Why would he want to waste away in a copycat visionless league run by Roger Penske and owned by Robert Clarke? |
Speed was all flash and no talent. He's absolutely no Montoya or even a sorry ol' Eddie Cheever. Just a show boy. No US GP no need for a token.
you stinking american pigs! you are too stupido to appreciate formula 1. you will never have a true champion driver from america. go round and round in nascar you fat ignorant peons!
