1 NASCAR is hardly F1 when it comes to physical performance. Simply ask Montoya how hard was it for him to adapt to NASCAR coming from F1 and you will be able to start formulating the answer you are really after. |

Well, you do, simply by responding |

F1 is the pinnacle of motorsports and it ain't an oval with a truck.
The amount of Gs your body will sustain (neck in particular), finesse and skill to set up the car to get the most out of it are just a few of the key ingredients to be succesfull. Hope he gets a real test not a demonstration so that through him all Nascar fans can appreciate what means to be part of F1. |

...Since when does driving in a circle constitute "sport"?....

When J Gordon drove an f1 car a few years ago at Indy, he did well
He also said that it would take about 6 months of training for his body to be able to handle the G loads of F1 |

I'd love to see fat boy Stewart trying to handle the 5 G's that turn 8 in Turkey dishes out to the drivers, and then handle those G's for the entire race distance. Might just show that there are light years difference between F1 and nascar, especially the "physical" demands. |

From what I have seen, some NASCAR drivers seem to think that strenuous physical training means regular visits to their local BK or McD with a couple of weekly helpings of Taco Bell just for good measure. It is like comparing American Football with Rugby. All 15 rugby players can run for 80 minutes, sustain forces that would dent steel wearing nothing but the flimsiest of protection against aluminium studs, no less. whereas most of the so called athletes of American Football cannot do more than take two steps and sumo wrestle their opponents to the floor, after which they have to stop for a breather and a fully loaded hotdog; they can't even kick the sodding ball unless they call the bloke that does only that. Yet they draw millions of viewers. Each to their own I say.... |

Probably cause Montoya has won 7 F1 races dummy. So he does have credibility to speak unlike you who still lives in your parents basement with no skill or credibility at all except to post stupid quotes from your jealousy. |

I think that Kyle Bush is an extremely talented young driver, but I think that it would be a big mistake for him to get overly excited about a career in F1 and then actually try and pursue it! Every hot driver from other racing series who have had dreams of a World championship (with the exception of JV) have always had their dreams shatterred! And not because they are not extremely talented, but because of all of the small differences between F1 and say CART or Indy, And F1 and Nascar are as different as night and day! F1 is so intense and competitive that if you have not started your career there and don't have the experience in F1 that it doesn't matter who you are! If you try to make the change to F1 you will most likely either spend the what should be the best years of your racing career trying to play catch-up with the other exremely talented and experienced drivers already there, or you might find that you are just not good in F1 the way you were in your previous series! Look at JPM who admittedly looked like an unstoppable force in American Open Wheel racing and was expected to be the next Senna or Schumacher, but instead took the seat of an uncompetitive team and just seemed to have everything go wrong for him from the start! Look at Alex Zanardi! I would say that although he too joined the same uncompetitive team, just wasn't good enough to do much of anything in F1, Another example is Sabastian Bordais who has only scored 2 championship points in his first six F1 starts! If experienced open wheel drivers like JPM and Bordais don't have the results that they were expecting in F1, then how in the world would Kyle Bush who is a stock car driver going to be able to acomplish much there? Not to take too much away from Kyle Bush as he is truly an amazing young talent, but I think that he himself knows that it would be a terrible mistake for him to pursue F1 and that it would just be career suicide! And that is if he really got a real test drive with an F1 team, and they were impressed enough to sign him. Well I hope that Kyle Bush takes (Everything) into consideration before he just gives up Nascar when he has such a good thing going for himself there! Don't get me wrong! I like Kyle, but There is just no way!

JPM didn't do as good in F1 as he should have! This is true! But look at his results from his first season! He was always running in the top three or somewhere around there in almost every race, but he had so many mechanical faliors that he really didn't have much of a chance to win in F1! If you review the results from his rookie season! You will see that he had 11 DNF's but he also had a win in Italy, three seconed places and a 4th place, The wost he did in the races which were not DNF's was an 8'th place in France. http://www.formula1.com/results/driver/2001/9... |
