Alonso Sez: 'Mclaren Seem Like A Winning Team, But They Are Not'

“Some teams are able to produce good cars”

Fernando Alonso says he chose to leave McLaren at the end of last year because the Anglo-German outfit is "not a winning team". The former double world champion is quoted by the Dutch website f1today.nl as ... via Paddock Talk

As the story so elegantly says under his pic - Six points for Renault so far, 28 for McLaren...

Well what does he expect? If he courts the media & spews out inflammatory comments all the while of course they are going to report it. I think alonso is showing how he is hurting from going from a team that can actually win races, get poles etc to a mid field team, he once bad mouthed when he left. Now if he scraps a few points, he has to consider himself lucky.

You reap what you sow alonso, this is his karma.

"You reap what you sow"?..."karma" .....maybe you're right about that. Maybe that's why McLaren hasn't won anything in a decade now because of "karma". I think you're onto something here Princess. Maybe that's why Hamilton is looking so inept these days. It's KARMA. Maybe that also explains his titantic choke job last season....karma. If "karma" is indeed at work here, expect the "boy wonder" to continue to finish behind Kovalainen in points as he has 2 of the first 3 races this season. It's karma.

I guess the numbers do not lie, do they. Even with the services of a double world champion and valuable information from their main rivals McLaren did not win either championship. I don't think Alonso was off the mark with his comments, or are you McLaren fans privy to information not in the public domain. Is it not true McLaren has not won anything for quite some time now. Am I telling fibs when I write that McLaren has been the also ran to Ferrari and Renault this past decade. And now it seems they will play second fiddle to BMW.
What else can we expect from them other than incompetence, after all they are only following orders from their buccaneer of a manager.

Hello, wingy, I am going to start feeling sorry for all you Hamilton fans if Hamilton goes on pressing wrong buttons (maybe he should stop playing with the Playstation? Or maybe they should do away with the traditional steering wheel and use a Playstion control pad?).

He could try and overtake sometime also. Do you realize Alonso is putting more suspense and fun into every race driving a toaster than Hamilton driving a jetplane?

To correct your second sentence, Hamilton likes to spew out inflammatory comments with the press he courts with such rigour, not Alonso. And he appears to like talking about 'our dear Fernando' as well. He needs to concentrate on his new role of Team leader instead of wasting his breath 'digging' at Alonso. Oh and whilst in his learning curve as Team Leader, identify which button is appropriate to press at any given stage of a race.

Well we all know he is obsessed with Fernando- just like his half wit fans are obsessed with bashing him and and anyone else that is not gaga over Lewis.

Hey Annie how right you are, Alonso would never say anything inflammatory, he normally just hauls out the 6 inch knife and stabs those who cross him in the back. hello Macca. As for the rest, Lockie is quite right, Umm how many points does Renault and Alonso have again? Of course we all know the reason the macca goes slow is because they tend to hit the wrong buttons every now and again, but please tell me Alonso's excuse. Maybe it's because that revolutionary "W" wing you all prayed for did not materialize, or maybe it's just because without a decent car at his disposal he is no better than a Sato, or a Button or a Barachello, you know just another average driver on the F1 grid.

Oh and one other thing, Please do not generalize. I can guarantee you that Alonso is not "our dear fernando" but rather "your dear Fernando" Certainly I would rather have my eyes gouged out before I ever refer to that clown as "my dear Fernando", and I think the likes of Wingy and Lockie might just agree.

Redneck, any pilot needs a decent car to stand a chance of winning anything; regrettably Fernando is stuck with a turtle at the moment but things will improve, probably not a lot this season, but next hopefully.

And whilst I appreciate that 'my dear Fernando' is not to yours, Wingy or Lockie's taste, the fact remains that this is a Fernando Alonso forum, and albeit these get intermingled with others from time to time, I have to confess to not understanding why you three like to sit here so much, being really unpleasant for most of it. Whatever blows your skirt up or trousers down I guess but my conclusion is that you all just like to stir it a bit. And as a very proud British Alonsoist, I reserve the right to say 'our dear Fernando' whenever and wherever. Have a nice day.

As I said to anton, there has to be a jester in every court as there is a princess in every fairy tale (and a witch).

Alonso worshiper bashing is my favorite topix past time at the moment. Sorry but it is.

This story behind this thread is that Alonso said he moved from Mclaren to Renault cos McLaren aren't a winning team. So what did he do? He moved to a team where the gearbox designers have stuck 6 reverse gears in instead of one. Now that may seem a bright move to you guys but to me it seems abit stupid and i still think he was made to go cos of his stinking attitude last year. You really think he wanted to go back to a team he had only just left??? He went back there cos Renault were the best of the rest that wanted him. No other reason.

ps I never activley go looking in the "Alonso forum" and even this window is stating i am posting in the Formala-1 racing forum so it shouldn't be too hard for you to understand why we post - or aren't we allowed to interupt your utopian cyber paradise?

I have no say in the way the forum is run nor I want to but I am happy anyone can post anti Alonso stuff (some people cross the line, I think, all the same). Other wise it would be stupid.
It does not happen the same in other forums devoted mainly to Hamiltonmania.

I think those would be centimetres, not inches Bob.

That was the six tenths he was saying he took to McLaren with him ;)

gwo - i could not agree more - i have no interest in being in a forum where everyone sings from the same hymn sheet. Thats just gotta be so boring. Bring on the variety of views and tastes and let battle (sorry debate) commence.
