Sad but true.
Parcells is really the coach.
Didn't you read any of the previous posts!

Sparano is the "COACH". His job is to "Coach" the players brought in by the "GM". This is how it works in most NFL franchises.

Starks was tagged as a 'transition player' by Pittsburgh meaning that they can match any offer. With that tag, Starks will make at least $6.9 Mil next year.

If Pittsburgh decides not to match the offer, the Dolphins would have to give up a 3rd round draft pick - and a bunch of cash.

Hate ta rain' on yers parades...

but the Achilles Tendon is called the ACHILLES TENDON FOR A FREAKING REASON!!!!!!!!!!

(ok.....deep breaths here.......).

Anyone remember Dan Marino's ATROPHIED leg after he tore his Achilles????????

Go read your Greek Mythology Cliff Notes and understand that this is a debilitating injury, one that is EXTREMELY hard to recover fully from....thus.....the reason no other team wanted to TOUCH HIM!!!

I LOVE JEREMIAH!!! Look back at my posts during his draft....I applauded the pick because I followed his college career...he was an absolute stud his junior year before breaking his leg......

but

he'll probably be one of the last cuts the Phins' make before the 08 season.....and I hope I'm dead wrong and he stars next year!!!!!

You know, this is one of the realist posts I've read in a long time. I hope you are wrong as well, but your point is very well taken. And if this should be the case (for the worst), why didn't we pursue another safety via F/A? Sammy Knight would have sufficed!

Solid move. The secondary is automatically better, provided Bell is healthy. Now it's time cut loose that worthless piece of flotsam Cameron Worrell.(He's the guy in our opponents' highlight films when their guys catch TD passes.)
My feelings EXACTLY! Is it just me, or did Worrell look tiny on the field? He got burned more than Helen Keller's toast. Bell is a quality player at a reasonable price.

Steelers will be removing the transistion tag soon after signing BR to a huge contract they cannot afford it.

So wait a minute here. I want to get this straight. Your paying Bell 1.4 million and hes coming off an achillies injury and 2 safties with ACL tears are in your secondary and you think you can go look at guards now. You let Zach go because of injury and he had more player respect in his pinkie than these 3 players combined. If your going to keep vets kepp ones that can help young talent coming in. STOP SIGNING INJURED PLAYERS WHO HAVE NOTHING TO BRING TO THE TEAM!!! Just because there is an iceberg in front of you does'nt mean you hit it. It sank the Titantic. You don't need to sink the Dolphins. Tuna your really starting to smell fishy.

Achilles injuries are usually devastating injuries to speed players. I guess we have to assume that Bell has made some sort of miraculous recovery. After coming out of the gate on day one of free agency with multiple signings, dolphins lost out to the Jets on Pace which in my opinion would have sealed the deal as a really good free agent period for the team. I appreciate the fact that the dolphins avoided the temptation to sign the high priced free agents and took a more youth / talent approach. I give this free agent period a B- for the dolphins. The Jets definitely have improved themselves but paid a ton of money...similar trap the dolphins found themselves in for the last few years. Faneca was a great signing for them but I think they way overpaid for Pace.

Resigning Bell is a good move if he can stay healthy,he's always played hard and seems to be around the ball almost on every defensive play.

Agree,Worrell was just taking up roster space and did nothing on the field.

Go back and watch the film. Worrell had improved greatly before the injury.

I truly hope we have massive performance and health incentives built into his contract, and not a lot of guaranteed monies!!

The best time to dip into signing a safety (in a year with the FA pool weak in safeties) is right as the last team cuts are made before game one, after we have gotten one or two in the upcoming draft and seen them absorb our playbook in camp.

All that will determine our need at the position, and Bill and staff will certainly troll the teams that are strongest at safety to see who gets the last axe!!!
