just can't let it be can you got to stir the pot and just when you think you would write nothing but positives, but you can't stick to positives cause your a negative writer the ravens have had trouble with mcalister way before harbaugh showed up reed too had his moment with billick so don't say harbaughs way it's the ravens way

I think Willis McGahee is a very good back and sometimes coaches have to do what they have to do to motivate their players. Maybe he's not being punished, but rested so he can give 100% for next game. He has been a good mentor to Mclain and Rice and to me that show's professionalism. I think our 3 running backs are every bit as good as the Giants, Earth, Wind and Fire. In fact we should name our 3 backs: Slash, Mash, and Dash. The Ravens are playing good football, could they play better ? Of course, but when the season started we had them going 4-12 or at best 8-8. Camron has done and outstanding job with our offense and the trick plays and using Troy Smith just shows me that not only is he creative but he knows how to use his players strengths to get the best out of them. I for one am very proud of this team regardless of how they finish. Watching them this season has been like a breath of fresh air, especially after last year and all the previous seasons of "i can guess what your going to do next offense"
Go Ravens ! Win 3 of the next 4

I don't believe a word of it. Maybe McAlister is gone after this year but to include Tod Heap, Samari Rolle and for pities sake Ed Reed on that list demonstrates how divorced from reality your columns normally are. This is simply another Mike Preston effort to make news out of his own name and incite a riot.

Mike, Mike, Mike, you are at it again. When everyone is happy you are stirring up the pot. You are the same Mike, a Ahole. Between Anita Marks and you, don't know who I can't stand the worst. I would love to know where you get yor information at. The way I have been hearing the paper is doing so bad, you probably won't be there long anyway. Probably work for a pennysaver. You must be a pleasure at home.

I did listen to a radio show where Reed was saying that Harbaugh need to talk to them as men. I don't think that there is anything wrong with how the coach talk to his players. We all know that you allways feel like your being talked down to when you're used to having your own way. Real professionals understand this.

Whereas I think Mike was trying to stir the pot (his job?), I think the article is timely because of the suspicious way that McGahee was held out of Sunday's game. But the bottom line is that Harbaugh has come in here, changed the culture and overall attitude of the team, and they are WINNING!!! You can't convince me that HE needs to be a better communicator or a better ANYTHING! The players need to get on board with what this successful new coach is preaching, or THEY can go!! Finally, we have a QB, a REAL offensive coordinator, and a head coach who understands that you can't "treat these guys like men" -- it doesn't work!! Ask the Giants....

Mike,
I'm a fan and you're a very good sports reporter. However, I do have to question your timing on this article. Couldn't you have addressed this potential problem a month from now rather than the beginning of what is going to be a crucial 4 week stretch with the Ravens. I hope this article doesn't create a distraction. The players named in your article really don't need to read (Reed) this now.

Quit drinking the purple koolaid people! Let me clarify this, I AM A RAVENS FAN.... Now, that said, you can see Harbaugh thinks he is the greatest. All he does on the sidelines is look on stupidly with the mic above his head. I don't care for Cameron but he and Ryan get the credit for this team! Harbaughs specialty is special teams and they suck! I can see where players don't care for Harbaugh because I can't stand him either...

The Coaching staff of the Ravens get a Big BRAVO ZULU from me. They have turned the ship around and in a good future direction. I read this column every chance i get. The column writer's job is to write a column that draws readers, i would say he does that and also he knows how to stir the pot. As for the Ravens listening and buying into what the coach is saying. I can think of alot of teams in the NFC and AFC that wish they were 8-4 right now, so whatever Coach Harbaugh is selling bottle it QUICK !.... IT WORKS

i rarely agree with preston and hardly ever understand his point of view. but for once i agree with him on macgahee. preston is dead on balls with this 'pro.'
i think harbaugh is telling half truths. yes it makes sense to rest macgahee (but why rest just him) for the stretch. the other half is people are fed up with this lazy bum and the coach benched him, not rested him.
willis was anticipating getting in the game. he had his helmet on and ready to sprint on the field. if he was supposed to be resting, wouldnt they have told him ahead of time? sure, he would be suited and watching the game but not with his helmet on and shaking his leg as if he's about to play.
he was benched and rightly so. other players work, train, practice, and study their butts off. you think willis has it in him to do that?
he's gone as soon as possible. the message is delivered. but where's he gonna go? nowhere. word is already out that he's a bum.
will his absence from the playbook hurt? no way. billick needed a versatile back bc he couldnt game plan. so he thought what if we gave 35 carries to a jamal that could catch-genius...not! harbaugh and cam dont need heartless guys and unlike billick, they aint kissin nobody's butt.

I am not a Preston fan believe me, but I have learned over the years that he usually is proved correct about Raven locker room gossip. That being said, if they don't buy into Harbaugh get them the hell out of here. All of them. Again, if this article is true.

OK,Mike. You found something negative to impose on us for what reasons now?You sound like you're the GM or something. Most fans won't believe half of what's been written and we're not worried about next year until we finish this year;how about while we ENJOY this season and cheer about our new offense,if anything.Damn, are you on the dark side of the coach right now?C'mon, put a nice Santa hat on and get in the spirit for awhile.

That what jesse jackson said about obama, that he talks down to african americans. Mike the donut eating sportswriter and jackson have alot in common. Jess is always trying to stir up things and get ahis name in the paper. Obama is president and harbaugh is the coach of the ravens. Both are winners and have motivated people into thinking change will be good. Jesse and mike are two people who aspire to be like them but never will be. There is no I in the word team.

You're kidding, right? Seriously, you're just joshin' with us aren't you? Harbaugh has taken this MESS that "The Offensive Genius" left behind and turned it into a winner! This team that was never supposed to win more than 6 games is now 8-4 and on the cusp of making the playoffs. Sure, Rex and Cam have done a great job, but what was needed most on this team was a change of culture, a change of attitude, a unifying team spirit. THAT'S the #1 change that Harbaugh has made. You're entitled to your opinion of the man, but I can't see how ANYBODY can proclaim to be a RAVENS fan and not like Harbaugh ---- strange!!

Same spurious speculation and blatant pot-stirring, different year (and coach).
He writes this "player upheaval/mass exodus pending" column every season like clockwork.

Most of the players cited in this column are expendable. Ed Reed is great, but who knows what his injury means for his longevity? Also, Heap seems to be past his prime. He's playing as a pretty good tight end, but there are plenty of pretty good tight ends. Harbaugh's system seems to be working and Ray has had no problem adapting, so what's with these other guys?

those that can't get with the program (the list), for whatever reason, should probably be included in the house cleaning.

As Mr. Spock so eloquently said "the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few...or the one"
