You get paid for writing? I learned in high school English not to use "has had" because it's really poor form.
They are different tenses of the same word. That's like saying, "McGahee ran runs for 105 yards."
Here are two examples of how to properly use has or had...
You wrote:
"McGahee has had the best game this season of the two"
Since the season is still happening, the proper way to say that is:
"McGahee HAS the best game this season of the two"
Later, you wrote:
"McGahee has had one good game"
Since that game is over and in the past, the proper way to say that is:
"McGahee HAD one good game"
I know sports writers are not known for being the best or the brightest when it comes to grammar, but please - this is basic English here. Your former teachers would be embarrassed, and so should you.
i guess Don "has" no life. if he "had" one, he might "have" something better to do with his time.

Everyone puts up numbers against poor rush defenses....that's why they have poor rush defenses and that's how they get poor rush defenses. When Jamal put up 2000+ yards did every team he play have a poor rush defense? If so, why hasn't more people done it? Maybe the 2000+ yard season was a fluke but he has still been one of the toughest and productive running backs. And to be doing it for as many years while others (Holmes, Alexander, etc.) break down, Lewis continues to run hard. He had some subpar years in Baltimore but I would still today pick him over most running backs. Look at LT; the last two years he's been mediocre, does that mean he's a failure?

All I can remember hearing was
"The ball carrier, pause, Jamal Lewis..........NO GAIN"
Thank God his miniscule gains are gone.
It was simply time.
Good for both parties.
Now its goodbye Ray,Chris, Samari etc as we "retool"

Everyone is saying Jamal was injured or lazy....isn't that Willis's same problems. Except he hasn't won a superbowl and hasn't rushed for 2000+ yards in a season. And maybe you would realize too that almost every player on the Ravens has been a "malcontent" at times. Maybe it had to do more with the coach(ing) and play calling. It's a good thing we have Rice and McClain because after every hit I'm looking for McGahee to stay down. Most of us on this board could probably take a bigger beating than he takes.
I diagree with your assessment, runningback is one of the most punishing positions to play.

Wow, guess this sums it all up. The story is poorly written.

How about neither? I was sorry to see Jamal go, but maybe we would've never gotten a chance to see number 33 beat up defenses. Rice and McClain are doing an admirable job. We need to dump McGahee ASAP. A gutless running back is of no use to a young offense that's trying to establish a culture of smashmouth physicallity.

Jamal Lewis is a changed man ever since he bought that new Hybrid motorcycle.
It seems to have given him new energy.

Uh oh...here we come. You can only hope to contain Sage Steel ( oh I mean ) Sage Rosenfelds.. You can't possibly stop her BTW, great performance against the Vikings. Nothing like getting lit up by Gus Ferotte eh?

PS- Gotta love all of the Texas Tech fans giving y'all the "L" sign....just beautiful!!
