Ravens pull off redeeming act but don't let it take center stage

Full story: Baltimore Sun

During the past several years, nearly everyone in purple has clung to the notion of rampant and unfair disrespect.

You have hit it on the nail-- with cameron as offensive cord. and ryan as D --we only need Hartbaugh to be a cheer leader front man and step out of the way of these great coaches--- maybe he should take control of the one job he is experienced at--special team--maybe it is me but i look for a flag after every kickoff--because every 3rd punt or kickoff we are called for holding or hitting in the back-- the last game it cost us field position 4 times and almost the game--

Disappointing? I for one won't be disappointed. I expected this team to win 4, maybe 5 games all year. I didn't see 10 or 11 wins as even remotely possible. This season has been a gift, and I for one won't be looking for reasons to be disappointed.

The Ravens have made great strides from the beginning of the season when 4 victories seemed to be the goal. We had a rookie head coach and Q-B, no offensive line, our running backs were a shambles, our reciever was average a best, we were greatly undisciplined (cost us the Steelers game), our locker room was devided, the whole team was disshelved. Between the management, coaches and players the Ravens have taken care of all of the above. A tremendous accomplishment. But Harbaugh is right, except for our wonderful feeling of great accomplishment, all we have earned so far is the right to play a meaningful game in December. Then another one next week, and hopefully on and on. As Madden and his partner said Sunday night "this Ravens team is exciting". Never heard that before. This is a special season, and it's only the beginning. Thanks to Bisciotti, Ozzie, the coaches, and the players. GO RAVENS!

The new attitude coach H has brought to the team has translated in W's. I thought maybe if the team caught some breaks they could win 7 games. Just gotta love this team! Christmas has come early for Ravens fans. Go Ravens!

It's only a matter of time before the comparisons start between how Harbaugh dealt with McGahee and Zorn mishandled Portis.
Didn't Bisciotti select a great choice to be the Ravens coach?

Eddie,

That has been happening for about 6 years now. It's almost as if the NFL has figured out that this is the most effective way of constantly moving the Ravens back without feeling the wrath of rage from RAVENATION. It is amazing how much it happens to us. There are never any replays shown and a commercial break soon then follows. People hardly notice it most times. You are correct in noticing that it has a HUGE impact on almost every game. Keep up the good work.

If the Ravens win the Super Bowl.

If ESPN gets rid of Chris Berman and Tony Kornhiser on MNF.

If Anita Marks leaves town.

If Flacco is rookie of the year.

If Harbaugh is coach of the year.

Things will be just perfect.

Cannot wait for Sunday as this will be a great game and a great respite from the stress of the economy and the even the stress of the holidays. Rooting for the Steeler? You bet I am. However, I truly beleive both teams make playoffs and would be awesome to meet again. The Steeler nation will be hating Ray Lewis the same as the Ravens fan will be hating Hines Ward. Players you love to hate but would take them on your team any day. Good luck to both teams it should be a great ride.

I hope Cal Ripken is the honorary captain of the game. That would be sweet.

I respect your post and I agree with it, but most Ravens fans would not want Hines Ward on the team.

Cameron and Rex have done great jobs, but the value that Harbaugh has brought to this team has been the changing of the culture. The cohesiveness, the discipline, the lack of "personal fouls" and "unsportsmanlike conduct" pentalites (when's the last time you saw one of those?) and ridiculous celebrations after EVERY tackle, have made, in my opinion, the biggest difference in this team from last year to this one. The whole package is so much more enjoyable to watch and cheer for now. GREAT season, RAVENS ---- no matter what happens the rest of the way!!!

I would DEFINITELY want Hines Ward on the Ravens. He is a blood and guts tough guy and this happens to be the game of football, fits perfectly.

The sad thing is Ravens fans should be more disgusted with our own players for not knocking Hines on his butt the he does our guys, it's humiliating.

The Ravens already have plenty of "blood and guts" tough guys on the team. If the Ravens breathe on Hines Ward too hard on Sunday they will get flagged for it. If they are smart, they will ignore him the entire game and then pop him when it doesn't matter anymore.

That's BS, if our players hit Ward hard and knock him out LEGALLY like he does to them there will be no need for flags. It's really that simple, it's called DISCIPLINE!

I would be more happy with flags called for holding as most teams Hold Trevor Pryce like he's their first born child and no Ref EVER calls it.

Wow, a Steeler fan who sounds rational and level-headed. What a nice breath of fresh air! Let's just hope that it doesn't come down to some stupid officiating call or non-call and the outcome is decided by a greaty play- by the Ravens, of course. See you at M n T on Sunday!!!

Nice post Steeler Fan! I agree, good luck AND SAFE game to both teams! I must repecfully disagree with Angry Dragon, I'd take Ward for Clayton in half a heart beat! Come on Sunday, GO RAVENS!

Yep. Biscotti and Ozzie have done a great job putting a new face on this team. The on-field talent is there with a nice blend a young guys and veterans, and the coaching staff has maximized this group's potential. I'd take the Harbaugh-Ryan-Cameron staff over any in the league.

I can hardly wait for the game this weekend. It should be a great, physical, tough game and I hope both teams come out with no major injuries. See you at M&T !!!! Go Ravens !!!

I love how Harbaugh has played all 3 backs this year. I respect a coach who makes the "star" player earn his playing time. You call it "mishandling" and I call it "coaching."
