I have been a Kansas City fan for a long time, but its time to get rid of the head coach and GM. They need a offensive line and work on a kicker. I dont watch the draft anymore cause they havent drafted a offensive lineman for yrs so why start now. They will just draft wrong choices and still leave KC's offense bad.

I think that Herms comments are being taken out of context and it obvious that Eagle doesn't pay that close attention to Chiefs Football. Yeah Herm has his issues, but those comments were directed at managment and personnel within the Chiefs organization. The bottom line is that Herm and Peterson are going to be around for another year no matter what and we have to deal with it. Listen the Sky isn't falling and it was good for us to lose some games instead of putting baid-aids on our team every year trying to fix this team. Having a losing season isn't any different than making it to the playoffs every year and losing in the first round. At least we can stop kidding ourselves and start to develop a good team through the draft. If you want to read accurate news visit the KC Star. You guys should know this because the Eagle usually recycles day old news on Sundays from them.

season ticket holder- as a fellow die hard fan, i agree that, in the end, this year isnt any better than last year or two years ago. However, from a business standpoint, and as a fan, having a 9-7 team who wins almost every home game like they did pre - Herm is a good thing. Really, it comes down to money for the Chiefs organization and if they want to fill the seats every week, they have to be at least mediocre. This is the worst season KC has seen in quite some time...why shouldn't we expect change?

Sheesh. Give the guys a chance. It's completely unfair to blame the team now on Herm. He inherited this team, and he's done some very good things on defense in a very short time. Sure they're sort of falling apart now, but I suspect that has more to do with the bad morale that goes along with the funk of a long losing streak. Once a team starts losing, it's hard to stop. Look at Herm's drafts over these last two years. He's done FAR better than Dick did. He's got several years to make up for--and he's making some big strides. Sure the O-Line stinks, and maybe they didn't do such a great job of evaluating that fact early on, but, again, they didn't have much to work with. They might have gotten a tackle with their 1st draft choice last year, but then people would have complained that they didn't get an explosive wide receiver, which they did. And stop blaming Peterson. It's obvious that he gives mostly full control of drafting and hiring to his coaches. The only time he apparently overrode his coach's pick was to get Larry Johnson, and that turned out pretty well. Give Peterson a break--he's been responsible for A LOT of good seasons, and new isn't usually better. And give Herm a chance. If after three or four seasons it looks like the team isn't turning around, THEN it's time to find someone else.
This goob with the Eagle is just filling news space--as is usually the case with sports writers--and the best way to do that is to be antagonistic. You'll always find a readership if you hate things.
And, if you are THAT obsessed with how the team is run, go buy Madden and hire your own coaches.

Its been said for the last 5 years as long as there is C.P. as the Chiefs GM. The KC Chiefs will never be nothing butt a AFC practice little league team. Leave the KC camp and move in with mama if she would have him.
Useless Dog POOP and herm fit right in as the wagging tail.

I have been a KC CHIEFS fan since '85 and I have never seen a season like this within the organization. Herm yes we are stuck with you and Petterson,"for now" so we expect a quick turnaround next year since you have a "plan". The talent that is on the field needs to catch up with the rest of the eliet teams in the NFL. So Herm, and Petterson start picking the right players this is what you get paid to do. I really don't think you will be back after a season like this not with a newly revamped stadium. There are seats to be filled it will not be with a losing team.

I think Herm Edwards is just plain garbage. Look what he did with New York??? Nada, Zip, so why did Peterson go out of his way to get him when there were so many better candidates that year..Defense wins championships..Well when our offense was number 1 in the league a few years back, at least it was awesome to watch and we made the playoffs. I hate to say it, but i wished the Chiefs hadnt made the playoffs last year so Herm Edwards wouldnt be able to put that in his resume. Anyways i hope they can him after this season and sign the Cowboys Garritt! What an awesome pick up that would be!!!

Well, it's clear that Herm Edwards has done just about everything he said he was going to do and say everything that he was going to say and express that things are only going to get better in life that is. oh wait ??? my bad wrong year and wrong team. he's not in the Jets organization anymore. so i was reading the wrong comments, right?
This guy needs to step back and take a look at what's wrong with his style of coaching, mmmmmm not working. don't see team unity, an offense behind a quarterback name Damon Huard who use to be a backup quarterback should go back to being a backup. I have followed the Chiefs since 1981. when they had good running backs, consistant O-line, that could move the ball, a defense that could control the other teams offense. I remember when they could put points on the board, on offense, on defense, on special teams. They might not have won alot of playoffs but they generated alot of excitment and explosive power in that stadium that even if you didn't like the Chiefs, there was something about them that made you watch them, and since Coach Edwards took over its gone and they are just a team like NY Jets, or Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, etc.,(Could have just said that since taking over you will be in a rebuilding stage that will take 2 or 3 years). instead you demean K.C. Fans to get over it. Bad choice of words.
Didn't like you in NY and don't like you in KC. you gotsa go and then I'll get over it.

yeah look at what he did, took them 2 the playoffs 4 out of his 6 years, last year the made it to the playoffs, Mangini was the coach then as well, this year hes also the coach with a 2-11 record, yet they want 2 blame herm, Well pay the fuck attention to the Jets, Mangini is trying 2 play a defense and offense that the jets do not have the players to fit the system. Herm is rebuilding this team to be good, Vermeils team sucked, and Herm is building like shottenheimer was and did with SD. PPl learn ur football, doesnt matter if u were a long time KC fan, if u dont understand the process, ur an idiot

also, jets fans will cry about anything and everything, if they want 2 bitch about them, then root for the giants, atleast there doing something. The jets suck now because of what mangini has done to them, not herm, when Herm left, they were a playoff team, mangini has ridden them of that. There now in the class of miami. we are not.

before Edwards took over as coach they had a pretty good team, now they are a losing kind of team. something like you are. omg whats with the ppi. are you in bfe,

Im sorry, I didn't know that youre in love with Herm. my bad but he still sucks as a coach. maybe the other coaches aren't like him, which is a good thing cause the team is about as good as the Royals are. last place is about as far as the can contend as any other team.

I wish Herm would leave and take King Carl with him. Enough of this crap, we need to get to the playoffs and win a game when we get there. Please, do us all a favor and you two clowns leave Town.

but this isnt the team he inherited, the team he inherited still had a heahtly Trent Green.A good Kennison, a faster Tony G, and a good blocking TE in Jason Dunn.Willie Roaf, Will Shields, and a dominant O-line with a healthy LJ in the backfield and a 31st ranked defense. Also the OLDEST team in the NFL. Now, trent green is no longer there, Willie Roaf is gone, Will Shields is gone, we have a top 10 defense when it plays like it should. We allow 2nd most sacks in the NFL. A new QB, and Injured LJ, injured O-line, and a declining Law and surtain. With a WR corp that drops alot of balls. So theres no defense, u ppl just dont know how a rebuilding process works, CP has just gotten you all used to the we can score alot of points say 35 on average, and still lose, but ppl like 2 c points scored, so who cares if were just an average joe team. CP sucks, herm will b fine when he gets complete control over the team, Herm isnt the problem, CP is, in 2 years you all will be saying, "im glad we have herm, look what he did to our awesome team". Typical football fans such as most of you only like football when ur winning, and like 2 complain and bitch about it, but if u really understood what was going on you wouldnt bitch so much.

CP is the joke, how many playoff games have we won with him as GM??? Herm got us 2 the playoffs his initial season with the chiefs, something Vermeil couldnt do but 1 time in 02, which he lost to the colts 35-45, where no team punted 1 time. Thats a horrible team, herms team actually knows how 2 draft and play defense, Vermeil was a joke with defense.

Herm you need to get over it, and Carl no doubt that you have given us Chiefs fans some terrific years but Herm couldn't get it done in NY so why bring him to KC. Oh yeah lets pay LJ big money so we can watch him on the sidelines thats sounds like a plan. All said and done I believe Herm and Carl's days are better suited somewhere else at the end of the season, we need a coach who has that flair of winning both games and the fans.

Herm didnt get us to the playoffs, take a good look at the situation buddy. They backed up into the playoffs. They all had to go back and put there shit back in there lockers.Herm edwards is a defence coach and he has shut down the offense.Clap Clap for him, maybe herm needs to hire a coach for the offense.Becouse he stinks at it.Go back to the defense retard.Vermeil filled the seats at the stadium,I would rather have the greatest show on turf then herms leading the league 3 and outs.Maybe the team needs to all hold out next year
