the story during the playoffs w/the patsies and the jets was how mad belichick was at mangini for signing a patriot, the unwritten understanding that afc east teams would sign someone from a rival. now the pats have signed a fin, maybe two. guess the monk of a coach does not praqctice what he preaches.

I am sooo lost at the constant subtraction without addition! I understand cleaning house, but when are we going to start bring furniture back into the house. The best names out there, in a weak year, are already being signed, so where are these players gonna come from? We cant count that much on the draft for these players to be instant contributers..so confused on the strategy...cant wait to see how it all plays out, and WHO will be playing on sunday! Need to remind CC that we still have to have 22 players on the field!

Love it,hope the trade if any works with McBobledrop.Hell I would have traded Chambers for 2nd rd pick and though I love Welkers over achieving little ass if the Patsies want him give us the pick.I am also glad we are not overpaying for the free agents out there this year. People please don't bitch that we are not getting any players and letting all of ours go, we should have been doing this 2 years ago. Love it baby, collect draft picks and start building with youth and toughness and some damn speed.

Wes Welker is one of our best players. It would be a huge mistake to let him go. Dump Culpepper he's dead weight.

Your premise is incorrect - Bellichick was not upset w/ Mangini for signing a Patriot per se, he was upset with the fact he named Mangini Defensive Coordinator and left after one season AND then took a Patriot. There is a big difference, guy.

Please check the history of transactions - there have been MANY MANY players swapped between and amongst teams in the AFC East over the past 10 years. It was how Mangini did it that pissed off BB.

Just because NE has over $30 M of cap room and Miami has $11M, don't let that get in the way of looking at things objectively. Miami did not manage the cap $ properly and NE has.

Agreed, on both counts. Not only do the Patriots want Welker, but if they don't get him, they force the Dolphins to use more cap space. That's one player we should keep.

McIntosh was just a journeyman OT and Morris is a carreer backup. Let's move on.

Look at SI's 25 best available free agents and not one them is a Dolphin...none of these losses are newsworthy except to us D-fans. Well that is if we don't reoffer Wes to keep him. We really haven't won or lost anything yet. Let's just give Cam and Randy a chance. Maybe they are just doing what a lot of us have said in the past, and that is to rebuild for future. 6-10 and mid pack cap space, what can we expect so far?

Lemme tell you.

Most of you on this site are right on! I just came from a site that said get rid of Welker. Are the Dolphins crazythey ____up when they didn't pick Breeze? Sure--let's do it again--Get that one legged wonder out there to compete with Brady Quinn (Overrated)/Cleo Lemon (Still unproven) and who else--how about getting Feely back? Huh--that would be a great move (Wait--I have to take my demerol!!)
Somebody dump Cameron if they don't keep Welker. Heck--I
m probably moving to Louisiana in a few weeks anyway so it's go Saints or maybe even Go Patriots. Belichek and Brady are going to rip us new _____if they get Welker--It'll be _____to pay for the fins who are headed for DEAD LASST again this year, I'm outta here and you all should be too. Fletcher anyone??

67 catches for 673 yards is our best reciever? I like Wes but come on....a #2 pick for that? All day baby, alllll day.

First of all, the offer was JUST tendered, the Dolphins have SEVEN days to match. The Dolphins get a second round pick if they don't match the offer sheet. It's not as if the Dolphins are deliberately letting him go. It's the way the rules are set up. So, relax, Frances!

AND they have 2 first rounds picks, thats pretty impressive. Ya gotta respect the way they run business in New England.

maybe a reciever bigger than 5'9" who can handle bump and run and is more productive than 67 catches
for rookie type money. We all love Wes, but it is what it is, he's an extraordinary player with average results.

Cameron and Mueller are doing the right things. This team needs to be revamped! Welker is a solid and inspirational player, but he his not even close to being worth a 2nd round pick. Let the Patsies over pay, they seem to be quite desperate lately! Adalus Thomas...way over priced for a product of the Raven's much vaunted system! The patsies are showing all the signs of a great team in decline.
