the ARIZONA CARDINALS have NOT been given ANY respect from the opposition & the media. they will
be severely tested against the STEELERS & this would be a huge surprise if they win!(as a CHICAGO native living in ARIZONA,i used to laugh at them & pity them, but now i do root for them(unless they're playing DA BEARS!) p.s. this would be about as big of a miracle as my CHICAGO CUBS getting to the WORLD SERIES! HMMMMMMMM! GO CARDINALS!

The Cardinals winning would be the third sign of the apocalypse (after the Red Sox and White Sox championships), so the Steelers must do their part to fend off Armageddon!!

the cards are good but not good enough to beat the Steelers. also there defense isn't so hot so we should be able to run the ball right rex? that is as long as they give moore or russell a shot along with parker. whatever happened to sharing the load? what a bunch of bullcrap this guy Arians shovels.

i dont get why it is such a big surprise that the cardinals are having such a great year. i admit that i didnt pick them to go to the super bowl, but i did pick them to win the division and win in the wild card round of the playoffs.

Arians is a big liability, no question. Todd Haley is twice the OC he is, especially with the brilliant offensive mind of Ken Whisenhunt in there with him. I do like our edge in D, though. I'm starting to think we may not blitz at all in this game--just rush four and blanket their amazing receivers all day. Warner is so good at reading blitzes and getting rid of the ball quickly, that blitzing may not be worth it.

I thought they would be in the post season but not the SB. it didn't surprise me after watching them last year that they were a good team. Also the division they play in is the worst in the league.

You got that right slick. I've been saying all season that a 3 back approach is the way to go. In the few games they've employed it they've ran the ball really well and won the game. Arians is a wide receiver coach who want to play west coast style football. I don't mind having the ability to pass first but you have to be able to run the ball right?

the nfc west was the worst division in the league by far this year. but i thought it would be competitive before the season started. i thought seattle was going to be good and predicted the 49ers to finish 3rd at 7-9. seattle was a big letdown for me this year.

I think we're starting to see a shift of power in that division. it was dominated so long by seattle but now the cards are the sh!t. I also think good things will happen with the 49ers. Singletary is going to whip that team into shape. Watch them come out next year with a new attitude of toughness. They already have the best MLB in the game in my opinion, also clements at corner is above average...now they need a pass rush. They have some guys to build off that's for sure. We'll see how they do in the draft and FA during the off season.

i think the 49ers do have pretty good team overal. their biggest need is a reciever, some o-linemen, and quit firing their offensive coordinators. i dont know if alex smith is an nfl starter, but changing coordinators every year is the main reason to why he is playing so bad. he starts to learn an offense and then has to learn something completely different the next year. as for the defense, maybe bring some d-lineman, and an outside linebacker. i do like patrick willis though because he great MLB and he is young(and because i have the same last name as him). as for nate clements, i still think he is one best corners in the league. they brought in justin smith and draft kentwan balmer to get more of a pass rush. i dont get why they didnt use balmer more. but they do have an overall good team.

The way they beat Philly in the last minutes was quick short slant passes, if Pittsburgh blitzes, Warner could pick them apart. Rex is right about just putting pressure with the front line and keep the line backers to cover those quick slant patterns. I think Troy may have a hey day with a couple of picks, 'cause you know L Fitzpatrick will be getting the ball some where near him.

if you are so perceptive, i salute you.
you should have been betting on your picks.
even if you missed the super bowl contenders (noojne could have predicted this macthup) you still get props for choosing the cards for division champs.
however, i do see that the other teams in the division struggled this year.
but OF COURSE everyone is shocked by the cards.
i was born in 79, and all my life i never heard anything positive from the cardinals franchise.
i could not be happier for the fans of arizona.
besides, i have never like the steelers. though i have had ultimate respect for them

that is SO true. During the regular season, Warner was the best quarterback in the league against the blitz. He completed 134 of 208 passes for 1,645 yards and 14 touchdowns in blitz situations. Ben Roethlisberger was 95-of-180 for 1,158 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions against the blitz in the regular season. Here's the key stat: Roethlisberger was sacked 29 times in 209 dropbacks against the blitz in the regular

I read that column too. The thing you have to remember is that the teams that were blitzing warner were not the same as the teams blitzing Ben. Having said that you can't deny that warner can fire off the ball extra quick. I think they may initially fake the blitz more than send in the dogs.

I think the Cards had a better O-line for most of the season. The Steelers guys spent a lot of games just fumbling around trying to learn each other's names. But I agree about fake blitzing. That's what they did to Manning in '05--they usually just rushed four, but WHICH four? I remember seeing Chris Hoke out in coverage a few times that game!

I am hoping that it is a GOOD GAME and not one that you want to turn off at the half time because you already KNOW who is going to win and its embarassing to watch the other team get stomped on so badly.

i thought the nfc west would at least be competitive this year. i said the cards would win the division, the 49ers would have a record of around 7-9, and seattle would be a game behind arizona in the west. seattle was a big letdown for me this year. but everybody i know was always criticizing me and saying how dumb i was for picking the cards to win the division. but it just makes it that much better now that they had such a good year.

as for pittsburgh, i am rooting for them in the super bowl because i have always thought of them as my second team. i just like their attitude when they play, especially their defense. they are always going full speed ahead and are ready to knock anybody out that gets in their way.
