Alex Smith was a MEGA bust in the first round when drafted, has shown little improvement over the years (like Jokeson, but a little better - has a small brain). He was drafter ahead of Rodgers, interestingly. If we don't beat him soundly, we'll have problems going into the season defensively. This is one of those games (pre-season, I get that, but still) we can safely say the Packers would win, were they playing San Francisco. And, we better win it, and look good or the shape of the season will start to take place - and not look very good. If the Vikes are a super bowl contender, they should walk through this game easy - like the Saints walked through Houston yesterday.

So the sixth best defense in the entire NFL in 2009....all starters back in 2010 = impending disaster.

You must be high.

Jackson completed 7 of 11 passes, including a couple nice runs to convert 3rd downs that Rosenfails never could have made.

Meanwhile, Sage completed 2 of 7. So what's up with you clowns? Are you all related to Sage, or what? Is he paying you trolls to come here and lobby for him?

Joe Webb already looks better than Sage.

Jackson looked EXACTLY as he did 2 years ago during the regular season (sick bad). Webb looked horrible - he's a kid and it's the preseason - I get that, but so is the 49ers bk quarterback - and he looked superb. The OL was VERY bad from the first snap, and for the entire first half, the 49ers second string OL and offense, the exception being Smith who is NOT a quality talent anyway, dominated the Vikings first string defense. There are a lot of people nationwide, blogging on nfl.com and other sites, laughing pretty hard at this team, its coach and organization after that game - with good reason. If that's a glimpse of what is to come, this team will be in deep trouble early on - as in 1-4 with the Packers running away. Pack has problems too, but quarterback isn't one of them - and as bad as their OL was last season, it NEVER looked as bad - as OWNED - as ours did in San Francisco.

What...four plays, completed a nice swing pass to AP- got sacked on a O-line collapse...

The Niners have a hell of a defense.

He suited up for practice when? Tuesday? Wednesday? I would not hit the panic button based on the performance tonight...

The VIKES starting defense looked sorry & so did the offensive line The 49ers beat the VIKES up all night. McKinnie still cant handel a speed rusher The VIKES center cant read a blitz I know its preseason but this is the same problem the VIKES had all of last year & it isnt fixed yet It wasnt just Favre Jackson & Sage both was being hit right & left. I didnt see the VIKES make one pocket for any of the QBs. The VIKES need to start makeing a pocket for the QB If they dont this is going to be a long season Favre or not

Jackson: 7/11 with two nice 3rd down conversions

Webb: 7/14 and a nice 48 yard TD run

Sage: 2/7

Does anyone here REALLY think Sage is better than Jackson, or that Webb isn't going to take his place as the new 3rd QB?

How did Webb look horrible?

He completed 7/14 and had a long TD run. For a 4th string rookie with no offensive line and a bunch of random players who won't even make the roster, I'd say he did great.

FACT: He's already played better stat wise than Bradford, Clausen, McCoy and Tebow through 2 preseason games.

What exactly do you expect of a 6th round rookie before you can give credit where it's due?
