Chiefs' Cunningham insists Allen must stay

I think KC should make every effort to resign Allen as a ancor on defenceand has settled in to all round good player

I think Cunningham is right! I am 28 now, When I was 16 or 17 I remember the thiefs a being the most feared defence in the NFL. Derick Thomas (may he rest in peace), Neil smith are just two of the most well known players. We need to bring back history, the way the players performed under pasion not price. We have made the mistakes of hiring vetrans in the past, only for them to retire the next season or be drafted to another team. I love the chiefs they are my team. But when I seen the way they played on the '07 season I almost got sick. Chiefs are the one of the few teams I see even through my TV that play with passion, but that was at a younger time. we have slowly sunk lower and lower. There is fewer and fewer players that stick out in a game. it used tobe the announcers would just list name after name as a threat to the opposing team. Im not one of those sports experts But I know What I see. My hope is that the '08 season will be a great turn around. I still love the chiefs, and their still my team. I have faith in the players and the coaches, I just have a feeling they played at a much higher level when they wer'nt being payed to play the sport they love.
thanks for listening

The Chiefs need to get Jared Allen signed. I have been a life long Chiefs fan and never seen them play in a Super Bowl. Carl Peterson needs to get this team to the Super Bowl or get out.

The chiefs need to sign Allen to a long term contract in order for him to be an anchor of the not just the defense, but the whole team. This is a guy that has worked his tail off to show everyone that he is one of the best. If they give him the franchise tag and only sign him for one year, he will be gone in 2009 to a team that will give him anything he wants.
I just hope that Allen doesn't fall into the same footsteps as Larry Johhson who seemed to work his but off when he wasn't a large contract player and then when he got the money he turned into the cancer of the team that whined and complained that others weren't doing their jobs and that the team was losing and he was still a superstar.

Semmy258 - LJ complained about the coaching staff not the players. He shared the blame for his poor performances with the o-line, yet he never once said anything bad about them, even though they deserved it.

If Jared Allen can stay we can then start to rebuild this great organization. We need to start with first signing a franchise player like him before we start worrying about the O.L. Which is in horrible shape right now. Also don't forget about the C.B. position. In this years draft we sure could use them O.T's,and the C.B's that are in this draft class. (hint, hint).
