Please conduct a poll of Bears fans to see how many approve of Lovie & Company using Devin Hester as a wideout or in the regular offense? Devin is a unique, gifted player who should be used as a strategic weapon where it can have the greatest effect on the game yet mitigate the injury factor. Why risk a Hester injury from a hit on an over-the-middle pass route, a hard block, inadvertent contact, or poor field conditions? It isn't as if the Bears don't have any capable receivers? With Berrian, Bradley, Davis, Gage, Olson et al., why is it necessary to squander Hester's talents so frivolously? It isn't because Hester has such a big contract that he has to be in the game for more plays? Even the kids in our family shake their heads when they see Hester out on the field other than as a member of the kick or punt-return teams.
