While the Bears look bad yesterday, there is still a chance to salvage the remainder of the season. Can the Kyle watch start now!

How sad for the Chicago fans again! Benson looked scared or confused - or both. Tell us again why Lovie got rid of Thomas Jones? Is there anybody interested in blocking on that line? Are you all ready for a 4 and 12 season?

So much for Lovie throwing Rex under the bus and thinking that Greise was going to be the big svaior. The whole team needs to step up!

Can we have do-overs for this season? Give the O-line Viagra or mega vits. Run Benson into the ground, and throw the ball to anybody but Berrian or Moose. Suprise opponents. Give Turner a book on how to coach offense.

Well so much for bringing in Griese. Seems he's been watching Grossman too much to the point that he seems to be competing in the interceptions column for the NFL leaders, or he just sucks worse than Rex..as some put it! Well. look at it this way...at least someone is catching their thrown passes, because the Bears receivers sure arent!!!! Why hasn't anyone brought up Kyle Orton's name for a shot at the spot? Go Bears!!!

The Bears don't have the swagger they had last year for some reason. That lack of confidence is showing up in crucial times when they need to deliver and fall short. The chemistry they had last year has not shown up this year -- at least so far.

PS Ron Turner may have challenges to deal with on offense but it seems our plays are known to the defense. We are playing 101 pro ball and play into the teeth of the defense most offensive downs. Do you ever wonder why we are constantly 3rd and long in most series? It gets frustrating. I would unleash the offense and scrap Ron's high school offensive scheme. He is trully playing defense on offense with the hope the defense wins the game at the end. Pull out the stops!!!! I guess the worse the Bears could do is lose the game!!

The Bears , as Rick wrote, are awful. Every part of the team needs help. They're like a great fighter who enters a fight and is suddenly "over the hill." Their weaknesses are compounding each other- the O line is old and ineffective; their running game was traded to N.Y.; they have no QB; and their D is injured to death. Forget this season- can there be any hope for even next season?

Think the Lions game was ugly?? Wait until the Packers get done with them...

This last off-season there was some QB talent that came in. But since there was no open competition, the Bears got what was left over.

So who ever was the person that made the decision about Grossman being the Bears franchise QB should step up and face the music for what is turning into a debacle that has hurt the team for 5 years and will hurt it for at least 3 more, if they have to go out and draft one (assuming one available) and develop him.

What's surprising about the bears play?? This is a team that got their fan's excited while forgetting that the Bears got where they were because of the rediculously easy schedule they had over 2 seasons. Welcome to reality Bears fans. Bye Bye Lovie,, your performance trying to impart inspiration to this bunch has failed just as bad as your QBs.

the only surprise in Sunday's slaughter at Ford Field was that anyone in Chicago even cares. C'mon, the Cubbies are in the playoffs, and that is the only story that matters, unless you somehow care what happens in Urbana on Saturdays in the fall, and hardly anyone does.

Well, well, well, yeah, yeah, yeah. They stink! I think now most of Beardom is starting to realize that Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dummer running the Defense and the O -(won’t even finish the word since there is such a lack of the former) are mismatched with any team in the league. Babitch hasn’t looked quite as inept as Turner simply because of the fantastic talent we have on the D. But, if he doesn’t figure out quickly how to cover the receivers and still put pressure on the QB you can all but kiss this season goodbye. Well maybe you can do that right now because you are now able to see why Ron Turner was never any better than 9 and 7 as O Coordinator in his first stint with the Bears. Then there’s that mess he made of the Illini. If he get’s this team to 9 and 7 this year that will be remarkable. If I was Lovie Smith I would out right bench or even cut Beensome, but I suppose they were stupid when they signed him and guaranteed the money. Next thing I do is march my lil bald head into the locker room and walk right up to Mr. Briggs locker and tell him that if he don’t have his mamby pamby rear end back on the field by Wed. he too will get what he wants; a free plane ticket to the Hamilton Tiger Cats. He’s just fakin it so he can make the Bears pay for the franchise tag they laid on him. Next stop would be at Urlacher’s locker to say,“See what your lil buddy is doing to the team!”

I just knew last year when they fired Ron Rivera that they’d regret it. Say what you might about Rivera, he played Lovie’s defense the way it’s supposed to be played.

What’s to be done?
1. Design some plays that make use of AP’s speed and slant running and install him as the featured back.
2. Get a large can of Brasso and rub it thickly over Griese’s rusty, brain and arm.
3. Bench Buryhim for all the drops.
4. Give the Special teams coach a multi-million dollar contract that keeps him in that position for the next 10 years.
5. Design some real plays for Hester
6. Get inside the head of the O-line coordinator and make him think that the has-beens he has can actually protect the QB.
7. Teach the D-line where the neutral zone is.
8. Figure out a way to make cheese spread, cause if the D - don’t play any better than they have been, Farve is gonna shred them; then look for crackers.

This team is really in disarray on Defense. I remember the days when you’d give this team a 10 point lead and the defense would make it stick. There ain’t no excuses big enough to cover this mess. The d-backs they played Sunday are better than most in the league. It all falls squarely on the shoulders of the D-coordinator and that one whose brother is showing the people of San Diego just how quickly poor coaching can destroy a Super Bowl Caliber team!

Mad as He-double hockey sticks!

Morrissey is exactly right! Great article!

The Bears should immediately retire Greise and trade Grossman for the ghost of Bobby Douglas...and beg the Mc Caskey family to sell the team to somebody with imagination...like the Munsters.

The Green Bay boys are gonna kick the Bear's butts on Sunday. It's a sad time for us football fans in Chicago.

Just when we thought we had it going we're starting from scratch again.

The big mistake was sticking with that Grossman boy for so long. They should have cut him right after he disgraced us so bad in the Superbowl.

We let Chris Harris go to make room for that white boy Artchuletta? That boy can't tackle his mamma or cover his sister.

Lovie Smith ain't lookin too good coachin either. Either is that boy coaching the quarterbacks.

Rebuilding again?
