Better Deal Urged for NFL Retirees

I fervently agree that The NFL and the players union should do more for the gridiron greats that make today's NFL, the greatest professional sports league in the world today. They all may be trying their best but much more needs to be done. But on the other hand I also feel that the player himself also needs to be more
conscious of his future retirement and health needs.
While they are presently playing they should put their money to use by investing in their retirement and inevitable health concerns, especially since today's
players make so much money than their predecessors. Just like the NFL and the player's union, today's player should contribute to the well being of the past greats also since they are benefitting from the blood, sweat and tears of yesterday's NFL greats. It would be a great way to say "Thanks" and pay homage to their galiant efforts.
