Cameron: Plays are mine, but process is 'collective'

Dolphins coach Cam Cameron continued to insist Thursday that he is responsible for every play call in his dual role as offensive coordinator. Full Story

BS...the whole Cameron line. Why not route the calls through the international operator, Sprint and Nextel help service call in number, my mom, then the hot dog vender! Cam you are the offensive coordinator...get on board buddy. Get someone to watch the clock and keep track of all six time outs! You, Cam, yes you should be developing the offensive game plans and deciding on how they will be executed. If not, let Beck call his own plays and put in the entire offensive game package. No more scaling it back because he is a rookie. He should have all the plays at his disposal not just the three running plays and the two 1 yard outs to the TE Mularky has in his playbook! I may not know much but I do know one thing...Mularkey is a terrible coach and a worse play caller. Beck calling his own plays certainly can do no worse then Mularkey calling anything.

Whoever has been calling the plays has really sucked so far! I thought Cam was supposed to be one of the NFL's best offensive minds? Time after time, he calls plays that make no sense and they get stopped! You have no one on this team that you can have that gunslinger mentality with. you have got to play a lot smarter than you have so far. Some of your plays just don't make sense to me or to anyone else who watches the games; and that's not too many these days!

This is why he should have hired an offensive coordinator and let him call the plays. I hope there's a different head coach next year, but if Cameron is still the coach, I hope he has learned from his mistake and he hires an offensive coordinator.

No matter what play is called nothing will happen. Wayne is the one who has driven this team into the ground. At least Wayne is around 70 so hpoefully he won't be here much longer. Cam did not have the guts to stick up for the fans when Wayne was propsing the 7 home game schedule. So now we won't stick up for him. Wayne is box office poison. The Bill's game is blacked out in Buffalo. Wayne scared them away. Now Toronto is trying to take the Bills away. Stop this www.NoGlobalNFL.com

Yes, and losers are fine with mediocre. Losing is losing, 0-16 or 9-7. Neither are stellar nor achieve the goal.

Do you remember 17-0?
Do you remember Super Bowl wins?
Do you remember Dan Marino?

Geeezuuus! What are you, a Giants fan?

There have been plenty of successful head coaches that have called the offensive plays. WHY Cam would turn this over to Malarkey is beyond me. He shouldn't even be here. Cam should have just come out yesterday at the press conference and said, "yes, Malarkey called the plays in the Jets game. It was something we wanted to try and it didn't work." End of story. But no he dances around this "collective effort" bullcrap instead of just being straight up with the media and the fans. I sure hope Cam learns from all of his rookie mistakes next season or he will be back at Indiana coaching basketball. I think Cam tries too hard to be a nice guy and make everyone happy and it ends up biting him in the rear a lot.

What difference does it make ?
Whether it is X ,Y or Z we lost every damn game anyway.
My point is the whole crew is worthless.Cleaning up the house is my only concern at this point.Nobody else can be as incompetent as this group.
0-12 and counting...

Maybe this is an area that needs to be fixed before any more rebuilding goes on. Communication, delegation and accountability needs to be in place and solid before the team can follow. If everyone is confused about calling plays, then communication basically sucks. Cam....get an offensive coordinator....let them make calls........you're the head coach...you oversee the different entities. If you want to be a line manager, step down. You're the CEO of the team. Be one. If anything, be the conduit that pulls it all together. But you cannot be a coordinator and head coach at the same time and expect to do both 100% to the best of your ability. You're also shortchanging one of your coordinators. This crap about who si calling plays shouldnt b an issue at this stage of the season.

As a Cam supporter this methodology. I don't have a problem with him handing of the play calling but too Marlarky? Mularky was run practically run out of town for his play calling and the fact that Cam now resorts to him to call the plays again is troubling. I've defended Cam very strongly but this leaves me with some big questions about whether he knows what he's doing. Cams decision making on the field is pretty suspect right now. Man, I'm pulling for the guy to suceed but we need to start seeing some better judgement from him!
