I am not surprised thomas is leaving miami, but I had thought he would have some trade value. I suspect this means Miami is going to the 3 - 4 defense.

He spent most of the season on the bench and ya can't win games with your best players sitting down.

Now he'll be some other teams headache.

Zach has been one of the greats he deserves better. Fans deserve better. Fans should own the team.

They are going for 0-16 this year, I think. Hey, this is a Dolphins fan saying that... after they got rid of Wes Welker, Dante Culpepper, Randy McMichael and Chris Chambers all in the same year. Granted, there may be differing viewpoints regarding the viability of those players, but losing Zach Thomas, that's huge. I guess they just thought he was too old. I know they can't use that excuse for the other guys mentioned in this post. During the season, people were saying they might lose Jason Taylor, too, as he's spent his whole career playing for a team that has been continuously rebuilding. That one could just be a rumor, though. Jason Taylor is a stud. I hope the Dolphins can figure out what they're doing soon.

Miami just might be better off with a bad year next year. I figure parcells just might start a lot of rookies next year, and that would not produce a winning season next year, but it would lay the foundation for a good team for years afterwards.

Bill Parcells is definitely the answer in Miami, as he's the master of rebuilding teams into playoff contenders... just ask my Dallas Cowboys and the other teams he's coached.

As he will be in the press box, he'll be looking at HIS team HE put together and not from a coaching standpoint. Dolphins will be in the playoffs in about two years, GUARANTEED.

I believe you are correct. Parcells has done this many times over the years. I am hoping he will stay in miami a while since he is not the head coach.
