Bringing up Cleo Lemon is absurdly funny.
In this case what life gives us will not result in 'Making Lemonade.'
If that was on the shelf for a headline, Mr Steele.
I dont see not drafting a QB.

I still think that with an improved O-line and a solid running attack, Troy Smith has a huge upside!

like i said, this guy is a joke.
i wish someone from the sun would fire this clown its clear to see he has no ideal what he is talking about. if mcnair can not be mcnair and throw the ball then its troy smiths team. he played good when he got the chance for a ROOKIE. he out played the so called best QB in the draft of the raiders but some how smith is getting over looked.
troy smith could be one of these guys that might not get the chance with the ravens and go's to another team and becomes a pro bowl player. maybe somebody like a guy name anderson the ravens once had. this guy has no clue what he is talking about

Troy Smith is a project and not the immediate answer to our quarterback problem.Jeff Garcia or A.J. Feely at this point would be someone to go with until a young guy can be brought along.Smith is,however the only guy on this roster worth bringing back. With Cameron to tutor him he may just develop into a solid QB in a short time.

How many sacks did the Ravens O-line give up in 2006? What was their record 13-3, QB talk? No
3 years ago Brett Favre was washed up, sound familiar Steve McNair? What changed Mr. Steele? His OFFENSIVE LINE play! Otherwise a practice squad RB could not come in and put up those #'s.
The Ravens need an Offensive Line that protects and run blocks, with TWO healthy TE's before no talent jerks can critique the quarterback.

The possibility of Troy Smith becoming a consistent winner in the NFL is doubtful unless he learns to throw with accuracy. The big run on athletic quarterbacks hasn't proven to be the right move.(too many unintended puns)

Every quarterback that is successful is a drop back passer as exemplified in the playoffs this year. Mobility is a great attribute but doesn't replace the pure passer. If Troy can become accurate along with his great mobility and athletic ability we would have the position filled.

But that's a big IF.

There is only two reasons why you wrote this ridiculous article: You wanted to write something insane because you wanted a reaction from Baltimore sports fans or you really don't know anything about football. Hmmm, which one is it? You know what, I really can't tell which one it could be.

You just want another black quarterback no matter how bad he is. You liked McNair who sucks, you like
Troy Smith who will never be more than a 3 string quarterback. You want be happy until the whole team is in the shade of the minority of the country. Everyone can see your prejudice now, you jerk.

Let me see if I understand you. You want to bring in a QB from a team that won 1 game as the answer to our offense? From a team that you admit in your article was horrible at QB? Mr. Steele, please move your desk away from Preston's. His lunacy is starting to rub off on you.

Its funny that everyone wants Cameron to evaluate the Ravens QB situation an hour after he is hired and before he (presumably) has had a chance to study the film and meet with the present QB's. Jim Fassel , along with many others, has said that Boller has all the talent necessary. Now he finally has a change of scenery (Billick's departure) and besides Boller and the rest are under contract. It makes no sense to dump them all on the word of the fans and columnists before Cameron has had his chance to look them over.

As for Anderson; he probably wouldn't have made it here, no O-line, and receivers like he has at Cleveland.

Jeeez, slow day at the paper David? Of all the names you could have pulled out of your fat arse, Cleo?? Haven't we had our share of Cleos thru the years (Tony Banks, Kordell Stewart, Anthony Wright) along with the Stoney Cases, Scott Mitchells, Elvis, Boller. Cleo is the last thing we need, even someone as intelligent as yo bad self can see we don't need no stinking Cleos.

i think we should give troy smith a chance and get rid of boller.
if we could get lemon cheap enough then give him a shot also. i felt bad for
Mcnair because if he had been with a better coach he would have played better. billick destroys quartebacks

Has anyone noticed that all the Head Coaches that have been hired this year have been white? One year removed from a Super Bowl that showcased two black HC's. How about the newly and soon to be appointed co-ordinators?

In all these years only three black quarterbacks have started in the Super Bowl and only one has won.

I don't know what any of this means I just think it's interesting.

I think if a good quarterback with high accuracy becomes available in the first round of the draft, we should take him. I'm not ready to give up on any of the Ravens' quarterbacks until they are fully evaluated for their health and ability to function in the new offense. Our quarterbacks may be better than we think in a more creative, efficient offense. Or their deficiencies may become more obvious, and we will need to bring in a free agent quarterback to regain immediate competitiveness.

McNair is a veteran former Pro Bowl Quarterback. Coaching had absolutely nothing to do with how bad he played. He is just old and washed up, plain and simple. No more excuses. Get rid of McNair, let Boller and Smith fight it out in camp, and draft a young QB. That's only if they can't get a good starting QB through a trade or free agency.
