All right I'm going on record to say this. I'm sick of all these media buffs who say we won't be a competitive team, we won't do this, we won't make the playoffs, we might be 5-11, or 8-8. The Hell with that. If we play the way we played with Saban, and we remember the 3 games we lost in the 4th quarter, and were to win those games we will be 11-5 and at least make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Laugh your butts off, but what the hell is the sense of being competitive and losing??? All those games in the 4th quarter, just took 1 or 2 plays from us being able to win. NE can't win every single game that comes down to the last quarter like they did the last few years. No team is that lucky. Enough said.

Hopefully the whole team comes out in better shape!People can say what they want but last year our season was over before it got startred due to poor conditioning and lack of spirit. My hope is that this new group of coaches has them all in plaing shape come opening day.It has been a major issue for several seasons. You must win the early ones and finish strong. It is truly a year round issue. However I will be happy to see us win just a few more games over last years dismal performance! We are rebuilding and after last year the only way we can go is up.Last year was an all time low.I'm looking forward to this season and will be cheering for my team as always!!!! HELL YEAH GO FINS!!!!!!
Where have you been, Rumble?!! Good to see you back!

Our O-line is looking pretty solid this year. Good call on the conditioning; we should have fewer injuries this year. We will be running SMASH-MOUTH football with Ricky and Ronnie, wearing down opposing Ds while keeping OUR D fresh.

If Davone Bess turns out to be a solid slot-receiver, I think we've got great speed (Ginn & Bess), height (TEs and Wilford), and the O-line is going to keep the QB off his back.

If Yeremiah returns to form, Jason Allen continues to improve, and the front 7 (Taylor, Porter, Holliday, Crowder, and the rookies) gel fast, we might be in for a HUGE surprise this year!

With a ball-control smash-mouth offense and defense, we have the POTENTIAL to win as many as 8-10 games this year (best case scenario, barring injuries and foolish play calling). I'd have to predict more like 4-6 to be realistic. We're going to miss Zach, to be sure.

What say you?!

F off GFK. Your not a fan. You trash Parcells and the coaches but never offer an alternative. You trash the draft but don't get specific or offer what you would have done. You are a true waste of space.

Maybe we can land a lock down CB. Any ideas on who that could be?
Yes, I've been hollering about that ever since we lost Madison and Surtain. The immediate solution would be Lito Sheppard (who wants out of Philly), but I really don't think he's worth the money he's demanding.

Maybe we should sit tight and hope that our current stock of CBs improve with better conditioning and a new scheme. Hopefully we have the luxury of drafting a great CB next year. It really would have been nice to pick up MeAngelo Hall, but his character issues are staggering! GO PHINS!

Has anyone seen him run? Is he as fast as he was? I remember looking at Dan Marino's leg after his injury, and it was like a peg leg....hopefully, with Bell's tear being higher on the leg, he'll be able to get back to where he was, but I wouldn't be surprised if Miami grabs a good veteran safety or prospect at "last cut" day before the season.

The internet bookies have the over/under at 5.5. Seems fair, but I'd go with the over.
The offense ain't goning be too fun to watch, but at least the end result won't be last year's nightmare.
With no QB, no receivers, no Zach Thomas, and ANOTHER rookie HC , the end result could be worse 0-16?

For those of you who have been missing during the off season welcome home good to see you back.

Ethan I to think you have given Y Bell to much credit, he has barely been tested in his 6 years. Not only that but these defensive backs that were not very good to begin with played behind the worst defensive line in the game last year.

As many mentioned these guys were not ready when the season started. They lost the first game against the Redskins because they were gassed in the 4th Quarter, and couldn't stop anything. With all the veterans on that team you would think they would be ready at the start of the season.

If these players are not ready this year or have injury problems they won't be here next year, nor should they.

We brought him here to hire the GM and help hire the coaching staff. That's it.

Everyone acts like Parcells is the coach and GM when in truth he is neither. Parcells hired Jeff Ireland and along with Ireland hired Tony Sporano. Parcells is playing golf everyday at Grand Palms. This is Ireland and Sparano's team.

So if you want to say that neither Ireland nor Sparano have won anything, go for it. But you realize your comment about Parcells was cliched and uninformed.

I'm Calling BULLS'T on you "Daryl"

Although they lost 15 games last year, they covered the spread or pushed 50% of the games. So if you bet against the Dolphins every game, with the vig you actually LOST money.

Try again.

The real key to this situation isn't just Y. Bell. There is no depth here. We need all the players healthy. I do agree, when Bell went down it was the beginning of a long season. It was in the first game. As has been stated earlier, this is a violent sport. Truth be told, I'd like to see the attitude change, which I'm sure it will. What will be interesting to watch, will be the development of the team as a whole. It may be advisable to allow Bell to develop slowly. He reminds me of Sanders in Indianapolis. Sanders is injury prone also. Both are fun to watch when they play though. Lets all hope for a season of pleasant surprises.

Good post...I agree....I also like your realistic opinion as well....4-6 easy I think. You did mention a lot of IF'S, and those are some big questions to be answered. But it is not as if it has not happened before in the NFL. Miami could indeed win 8-10 if a lot of things go their way...but the realistic fan in me would be happy with 4-8 and seeing the young players develop for the following season. Its going to be interesting and fun to watch...there will be bumps in the road for sure, but it cant get any worse than last year!!!! Only way to go is up DOLFANS!!
