"When you don't [play well], you leave things to chance and you put your situation in someone else's hands," Mangini said. "That's never a position you want to be in."

In Mangini's case, "When you don't [COACH well], you leave things to chance and you put your situation in someone else's hands," Mangini said. "That's never a position you want to be in."

In less than 12 hours we Jet fans go from hosting what could have been the most exciting game of the season next week to just another game in a somewhat disappointing season. Any Dolphin fan want to buy my tickets ?

Same old Jets, Farve looked lost out there yesterday just chucking it up, intercepted, underthrowing. They needed to run it all day yesterday, Tony Richardson was gaining the short yards, T. Jones and the underplayed L. Washington weren't involved as much as they should have been. Terrible coaching, go for the TD in the 1st Qtr, and kick that field goal in the 4th. Well they're are done, barring a miracle, and if they do get that miracle, then really how far will this team go in the playoffs, espically when you can't beat a one the NFL's worst. It's gonna be a long winter.

Jets don't have a chance, the fact that Mangini opted to punt rather than re-kick that FG says it all.

Pathetic !! Mangidiot and the entire staff needs to go. Favre needs to retire for good and who would blame ALL the free agents for leaving? 7 players to the pro bowl?? who voted?what were they thinking? But ya know what, after last season 9 wins is a great year, but we fans expect more. How stupid are we? The owner will look at the 9 wins as a great season and Mangidiot will keep his job and the Jets will fail again in 2009.

Damages???? All but ended when they can not beat SF, Oak, Denver, SD, and Seattle. They have no one to blame but themselves. This starts with Ownership through Coaching and ends with the players. The biggest blame has to be with coaching. Show no emotion and the players show no emotion. Deer in head lights, shell shock, or whatever you want to call it. No one is a leader on this team. Disgusting is all.

The should hire Belichick's barber as head coach next year. Because maybe, just maybe, some of Belichick's coaching skills rubbed off on that guy.

Absolutely disgusting!!!!! I hate the fact that I was actually raised a JET fan and that I need to be use to disappointment. We have a great team with alot of talent but they can't get it together!! The coaching staff sucks, the play calling sucks and my Sundays are ruined. We had an actual chance to do something great this year but instead they play like a "special ed" football team. Good going JETS, another season down the toilet. There is no need for you to be in the payoffs.

Let's start the Mangini is out and Mike Holmgren is his replacement rumor now. Maybe that will calm Brett down and keep him here another year.

This will cut the ties and end the history of Bill Parcels' legacy from him dumping the team, the cheater dumping the team on his first day of work and the intricate ties Parcels' involvement brought with the Patriots. They did get to an AFC title game and some playoff spots, but in the end, the series of events that began with hiring Parcels from New England was disastrous.

I see the FUTURE..Brett retires, Mangini is fired, the rest of the coaching staff is retained (WHY? I don't know), Cassell goes to anyone but an AFC East team, Coles goes to Miami to be with Chad and the Jets get another Yes man as head coach. WOW Sounds alot like the Raiders....Guess each coast has to have a crappy owner/losing team..Silver and Black/Green and White, in the end it is all the same. Fans will pay the price and the players and teams get richer while we continue to B I T C H and COMPLAIN.

realistically, they should have beat SF, Oakland and Seattle to be 12-3 right now. This "coaching" staff has got to go. It wasn't too a tough call to dump Chad for Brett based on Chad's perfomance the past couple of years, be even then, QB was not their biggest problem and maybe a coaching staff who knows how to get the best out of the players that they have would have gotten more out of Chad (like Miami did). They did the same with Brett - superstar that still needed to be armed with a decent playbook based on his abilities. Just because he is a superstar didn't mean he was self guiding. And the question they didn't ask themselves is what happens if Brett hangs it up after this year?

Just like I said in August...waste of time to get washed up Favre. We're worse off than we were before and Pennington will most likely be playing in the playoffs.

For those of you who weren't paying attention: The Jets, with Favre, are an 8 & 8, 9 & 7 football team. And the schmucks gave up Pennington, who WILL beat them next week for the Division title. Be prepared for another 10 years of misery.
