Don't blame the guy for pursuing his dream job. For Pete's sake, He's been a ND fan since he was a little kid.
Besides, would any coach worth his salt choose Cincinnati over a major college gig like ND?

that is why I moved to Denver after I graduated from Ohio State 10 yrs ago...blue skies every day...gorgeous tall blonde women everywhere...
Please, I've been there. Ft. Collins, Boulder, Denver, Steamboat, etc. The blondes were usually tourists from Utah, CA, etc. With blue skies every day, then all the snow must occur miraculously or get trucked in from elsewhere? I was glad to leave.

A major point most of you are forgetting is Weis got canned at the end of the season, not after the bowl game. Kelly needs to get recruits to South Bend and those decisions are being made now. I agree to a point about abandoning his team, but what major college coach did not use other progams as stepping stones?
I agree. My attitude towards ND football has changed now that the Alma Mater has a new coach. For awhile, I was only following the women's soccer team and even went to one of their tournament games (which they won). I just gave up on the football team long ago.

Kelly is brand new. Most Domers must be optimistic. As for the Ohio critics, I don't understand the excessive complaints. He left Cincinnati, but so what? Urban left Utah for Florida, and I don't recall that many complaints. I now live in Florida, and no one here has ever made an issue of that. Utah continued to be a good program after Urban left, and I am sure the Bearcats will do the same. The same players are there, and after all that film, practice, and collaboration they should know what to do.

ND gets what they deserve!! Any athletic director with an ounce of integrity would have said "Kelly, coach your guys to a victory and we'll see you in January". What's he going to do at ND now (in December), that he couldn't have done in January??

ND has always had terrible AD's which have led them to poor decisions, and here's another one. So much for the anticipated return of a 'storied program'.

Kelly's performance on the sidelines with both athletes and coaches has left a lot to be desired. Now in addition he has shown that he is not trustworthy. Hence, he'll have the same recruiting problems that Wies did. My guess is that his chances of being successful (i.e., winning) are no better than 50/50.

Heard an interesting take this week. Kelly leaving before the Sugar bowl underlines how unimportant the non-BCS championship bowl games are. If Nebraska beats TX and UC ends up in Pasadena...Kelly certainly stays. In this system the Sugar is the same as the Poulan Weed eater bowl...just a difference of dollars. I'll join Scottsdaledomer in confusion about the hatred of ND. What are you Ohioans so upset about? You have Tressel forever and will probably keep winning the big 10.

I personally I wish BK well .as do most people I know,I've watch him turn a round 3 woefully bad programs in the last ten yrs,I hope he makes it four.and I hate ND.the thing is BK is a classy guy in a highly charged industry(college coaching)he was probably forced by ND to leave Cincy because of recruiting concerns, that sucks but players have no bitch let's face it most of these guys wouldn't have gotten to the national stage w/out BK,and if any of them had a chance at big $s they'd be gone in a flash.so i won't shed a crocodile tear for them.fans are fickle if BK were yo win a NC this year they'd be all lovey dovey but the first time he lost more than 3 games in a SEASON he'd have BEAR CAT NATION CALLING FOR HIS HEAD.as far as the press is concerned they'll go along with the prevailing winds. my point is BK is just a product of a system that breeds cannibalism,so rock on BK, I'll not be a hypocrite and root against you for taking a dream job and getting paid for it.however i'll never root for ND eventhough they may just gotten the best coach in the game.
