Dolphins: Team trades center Samson Satele

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

It looks as though the Dolphins are going to get back the late-round pick that they dealt to the Jaguars this week for defensive tackle Tony McDaniel, as they've traded center Samson Satele to the Raiders for an undisclosed draft pick, according to an NFL source.

Nice, so what you losers "torted" as our next great center and made the Welker trade worth a 7th round pick? Plus New England picks up johnson. I'd say New England stealin you losers Blind! hahahahahahahaharg!
Your 2007 draft is beginning to look like a bust.
Let's see what happens to the remaining schlepers, Beck the buzzerman, soli-me-sandwich and Ginn and his family Burp!

JetFan You should not be concerned about what the Dolphins are doing at center instead be worried what the Jet's are doing under center. Who's your QB Jet Fan?

Jet Fan, You're commenting on our 2007 draft busts? That's old news. New regime now. But since you brought up draft busts... lets talk about your #1 pick from 2008... what's his name Vernon "Ghostman"... I don't remember ever seeing him!?

Glad to hear Miami picked up a draft pick to replace the 7th rounder they traded away to jacksonville. Anyone know how high the pick is?

wow, the jets fan sounds deeply depressed the way he has fixated on the fins offseason. he might not recover from pennington beating his jets to win the afc east.

And from reports pennington might have a better year this year, since he is hitting the weights. I am hoping that will improve his arm strength.

The oline is going to be a disaster - we made Carey the highest paid right tackle and the guy isnt good and we could have picked someone up in the draft just as good or better. Smiley is a dog and our new center is overrated. Im a die hard fan but this regime is forgetting that last year was a fluke with signing Pennington and a very soft schedule. Wait til this year with our schedule and the wild dog days are done. We are going to have to muscle people around and we cannot do that with this oline - no way!

Some fan. Carey is very good--not elite, but he's surely no bum. Jake Long is opposite him, and the team won 11 games with a mediocre center and mostly backup guards. Last year was no more a fluke than the 1-15 season with Camoron. This team has enough talent and coaching skill to have a winning record next year, even with a "tougher" schedule. These "tougher" schedule comments always crack me up--in today's NFL, last years heroes can be next years dogs, so who really knows how tough this schedule will be for the Fins. Who thought the Pats wouldn't win the AFC East? Coming into last year, many opponents had figured the Fins for a guaranteed win. That didn't work out so well.

Great points finfan. Our O-line held up with backups in the middle positions. We know get Smiley back who was performing at a pro bowl level, Grove and a young upstart in Thomas. You also give big Jake another year and there is no reason not to think our line can't be a top 5 one for the next 3-4 years.

I am so tired of hearing about the "easy schedule" of last year. All 4 teams played the same schedule.
(AFC West & NFC West)
P.S. They only lost 1 game out of 8
And of course each other for a total of 6 games. Which only leaves a 2 game difference in schedule.
The Dolphins played the Ravens and Houston. And as everyone could see at the end of the season the Ravens were no push over.
So enough with the easy schedule unless you include the other 3 teams as well.

Miami will definately have a better offensive line this year. Donald thomas is coming back off
of injury and he played very well before getting hurt. Miami will draft another big guard in the draft and throw him into the mix. With Long and Carey occupying the tackle spots, Miami will have a good inside running game. Miami does need to draft a tackle in the later rounds as backup. I am looking forward to seeing ricky and ronnie run behind the new O line.

satele is a great player, just not the type of player parcells wants up front on the line, not big enough, nor powerful enough to have dominant offensive line, and satel did not want to battle for a gaurd position...i hope the best for him....jake grove is our guy now...

Wasn't this thread about Satele?
He will not remebered as another Jim Langer or D Stephenson but he did an admirable job for the phins, tough guy played through injuries, just not a Parcell type lineman, Good luck Sampson
