Where was the 'Power' football on fourth-and-1?

There are 2 comments on the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution story from Sep 12, 2010, titled Where was the 'Power' football on fourth-and-1?. In it, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that:

" If you a "power football" team, do you kick a field goal late in the game or do you power the ball for the needed yard and march into the endzone for victory? The Falcons, in Mike Smith's first season, clearly stated that they were going to play some power football.

Roddy White claims he had the 1st down easily and got a terrible spot. Replays conclusively prove the exact opposite. His knee went down, then he crawled a good three yards further before they whistled him down. He got nowhere NEAR the marker, and it was only a miraculous gift of a spot that allowed the Falcons to even think about going for it. If they had succeeded in socring a TD, and that had won them the game, it would have been criminal that the spot could not have been challenged.

Apparently you can only challenge when the spot results in a 1st down. This is something the rules committee needs to take a look at next offseason.

everyone second guesses the coach but come f-ing on! 4 and 1 and you go for it instead of kicking the field goal to tie? what kind of a dipshit would do that in an away game? it was a good call and they even won the toss in overtime...just couldn't get r done...not against the best D in the league.
