Is it really necessary to sign all these players before signing the veterans from our Super Bowl team? Is this a wake-up that some of the vets will not be resigned? Eighteen ball players in total here, just how much money does that put toward the salary cap moneys? How much could have gone to resign the vets? In other words, will there be appreciation in the form of new contracts to the free agents/Super Bowl Champion free agents or what? I hope there is reasoning that makes sense to these signings.
These are PRACTICE squad players, who sign basically a one year contract that is usually BELOW the league minimum due to proration. NONE of these guys will likely make the actual roster and will either be waived or retained on the practice squad. Their contracs WILL NOT hurt the process of resigning veteran guys. You HONESTLY think they'd sign a guy like...Josh Betts if the chances of them securing Freeney would be lessened. Lets realize that Polian has QUITE a bit more experience with this than ANY of the posters here and trust that he knows what he's doing.

One name of interest is Kenton Keith. He played for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders in the CFL last season and most believe he is the best runningback from the CFL. He's still young and tried out with the Jets a few seasons ago. This guy can cut and weave through traffic and has unbelievable speed. He is so strong at changing directions, he often made a lot of people look silly. He's not the next Edgerrin James, but I have a feeling he might get a shot at returning punts next season.
Dude no offense to Canada or anything, but the CFL is pretty much at the bottom in Professional football laegues, well I guess you guys are better then the AFL (arena football league) AND MAN DO I WISH THE CFL WAS ON MORE HERE I GET SO BOARD WITH BASEBALL, GOLF, TENNIS, THE AFL, AND NASSCAR IN THE SUMMER WHEN THE NHL AND NFL EUROPES' SEASONS ARE OVER AND THE NBA FINALS DONE WITH. I'M TIRED OF PART OF THE MONTHS OF JUNE AND AUGUST AND ALL OF JULY BEING SPORTSLESS FOR ME.

These are guys that are not in uniform on Sundays. Every team is doing this. Occassionally a few of them make it off the practice squad to become part of the Sunday team.
Even the New England Pathetics, I dunno man these guys could cost us a-lot of this years draft picks in training camp.

Becaue these guys combined won't make what Freeney will get paid...
Relax, Freeney will be franchised
However, I would bet that Rhodes is gone as is Morris who both are going to get as much money as possible on the open market, as their playing days are limited. Personally, I don't blame them, they have both given the Colts, the hometown discount on their latest contracts and should be rewarded with what is out there via free agency...
They got their ring here...now its time to set themselves up for life. And contrary to popular opinion that is likely not accomplished yet. Not to the lifestyle they have become accustom to living, especially considering they will have to get real jobs in the next few years to pass the time.
Doubt it I've heard the colts want to either franchise Freeney or June and give the other a big contract. Freeney doesn't look like the franchise player this year, they usually are gone the next year because they are upset and the franshise tag is a few million higher for D-ends then linebackers.

The Colts have some players on their roster that I think will make the Colts better.I believe Corey Simon will be ready to play on the defensive line and Monte Reagor will be back as well.De De Dorsey will be ready to step in for Rhodes if he decides to leave.Imagine this defensive line: DE Brock,DT Simon,DT Reagor,DE Freeney and have Mathis come in on passing situation. Go Superbowl Champs Colts!
