I know...and he knows...one of these days someone will duplicate Archie's double Heisman. I hope that day is a long, long, long time to come! In an age where so many past and current sports stars are found to be people of dubious character, full of self-interest, or just plain jerks...The Ohio State University, it's athletic/alumni family and fans, and The Downtown Athletic Club are especially well represented by a classy, kind, and caring man called Mr. Archie Mason Griffin. I love you...and I know somewhere Coach Hayes is smiling just because of you!

While I totally agree with the fact that Archie is one of the classiest guys on and off the field to ever play the game, Tim Tebow is one of the few out there that may come close to matching that kind of class. I know this will incense thousands of Buckeye fans,(I root against Florida just like you...), but if you pay attention to Tebow the man more than you do Tebow the football player...:-)

I would like to call bs on the $25 "overnight" fee for the rose bowl tix. I am a student and I bought 2 tix and had to pay $25 for "handling" and I still have to go and wait in line at the Schott to pick them up at will call. There were no other choices-they could not be mailed out. I wish that OSU would just say that they were money hungry and are charging $25 because they know that they can because people will pay.

Ooh. How refreshing. A story about Archie Griffin, a guy who professionally peaked 35 years ago.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Heroes come cheap in Columbus.

Ohio State and its fans are living in the past.

This is just more evidence.

I suppose talking about the 1970s is better than talking about the sad, sorry, state of affairs of your now-second-rate program.

41-14 anyone???

35-3?
38-24?

Ohio State football has been embarassed on the national stage more often than Sarah Palin.

Can't wait to see Oregon hang half a hundred against the Overrated Suckeyes.

Funny to hear Cincy fans complain about Buckeyes living in the past then bring up games from past years to prove their point. I detect some selective memory there. You Bearcats better concentrate on playing some defense. Those gators are tough, and being jealous of the buckeyes' wonderful winning tradition won't help you in January.

Agree $25.00 is too high especially with three weeks before the game.

JStewBearcat05,

Since you seem to lack the intelligence to appreciate history, I hope you enjoy the present little run of success for your Bearcats. Kelly's likely headed to South Bend and your program back to mediocrity.

I believe Colt McCoy should get the prize. He has a three year history and staying power through injury and down times to show his continued escellence. The sophomores are great but could be victims of flash in the pan syndrome, injuries, personal poor judgment, or poor team performance in the next two years. On the other hand if they continue to perform next year there is plenty of time to reward their excellence. Archie is a perfect example of this while Tebow is also an example of slipping from his best for a variety of reasons

These Cincy fair weather fans crack me up when they rip on Ohio State. Can you please tell me one relevant thing that the Bearcats have accomplished. What, you've won a couple of Big East championships...well done!

Don't you just love Bearkitty fans. They are so insecure they have to post smack on an article about a classy OSU alum - one of MANY OSU heisman winners, but the only 2 time winner. They better be more concerned about the Gators hanging half a hundred on their sieve they call a defense. Then their offense will finally face a tough D, with linemen who have the speed to run them down. I predict we won't read too many of their posts after the game cause they will have nothing to boast about. Their 15 minutes are just about over.

Hey J...relax, boy! I don't think anyone meant to disrespect your one-dimensional team...or your soon-to-be-gone coaching staff...or your 35,000 seat stadium...or your 20-7 loss in the only BIG bowl game you've ever played in...or the fact that you bearcat "fans" couldn't buy up all of the 17,500 tickets allotted to you for that bowl game.

It's too bad you're so upset with a little reminiscing on our part over a pretty damn good player...and an even better person. Will the Bucks lose to Oregon? Maybe. Will OSU be "embarassed on the national stage" again? Possibly. But I'm proud to support a program that keeps trying to get better...as opposed to one that thinks it has somehow already arrived when it still has more overall losses than victories in the entire history of the program, got its tail waxed by Oklahoma last year, struggled with Illinois this year, and was seconds away from losing its most recent game. Hopefully, UC will ALSO keep trying to get better...because its in REAL need of doing so before January 1, 2010!

Now go back to your little corner of Over The Rhine...or Price Hill...and concentrate on happy thoughts......or turning the UC basketball program around!

I have nothing against Tebow, actually like all of the stuff he has done off the field, seems like a fine young man, but yeah, I do hope Archie remains the only 2 time Heisman winner.

For all you Cincy fans, I wish your team well, actually rooting for the Bearcats to win, way to stay classy with your posts. I know you guys have now had 2 successful seasons, it's not quite time for you all to brag yet.

Call us when you've done it for awhile, little brother.

Perhaps a three-way tie (Ingram-Gebhart-Suh) would be in order this year.

Come on Jason, not every article is about osu vs cincy. Stick to the subject of the article, Archie Griffin's heismans. If Cincy had a heisman winner, then we can talk about that.
