I pay taxes and I don't even have children in schools. Can't use that as a reason, otherwise I should be able to play!

I'm curious as to why a student who doesn't attend a high school would want to wear the school's team uniform and represent the school on an athletic team. Especially when there are numerous other opportunities available on travel squads. Would the student be covered under the school's team and travel insurance in case of an injury or accident when theya re nto enrolled at the school?

playing on a school sports team is a privilege for eligible students at the school. it is not a right, either for those students or for anyone else in the jurisdiction, just because they pay taxes. school coaches have the authority to decide who makes or doesn't make a team, and whether the kid's parents pay taxes has no bearing on that decision.

How else can the student compete in team sports otherwise? Insurance is a non-issue since it can be purchased.

Well - if a parent should NOT want their child indoctrinated in the PC world, dumbed down, not taught basic cursive handwriting, and does want to exercise their RIGHTS (not a new one) to raise their child as they see fit - it is NONE of my business, and if they legally live in the jurisdiction of the high school - they should be able to compete. Oh wait....this is going to raise "ire" - They can always go join SOCA and the "everyone gets a trophy" crowd. The ONLY sport where this is germane is Football. There is not AAU/Travel Squad/Boo Williams/Lacrosse Team/Little & Senior League/American Legion available for football - but EVERY major or most middle level colleges are more than aware of the talent in those leagues. Other than Football - I say "TBSS" (Too Bad! So Sad!)

I can see you have an unbiased position on this. Lol.

Why do you people not want willing kids to participate in sports ? Are you just grumpy ?
