Interestingly, I recently read an article that said the reason why Peyton is the greatest QB of all time was because he wins 13 games a year and nobody else comes close, so I checked it out.
Not sure how this writer is employed given that he made two enormous mistakes. first, Peyton won 13 games last year with a team a few others QBs could have won more with, probably 14, 15, 16. Brady, Rodgers, Bree's to name a few.
Peyton doesn't even win 11 games a season unless you add in his postseason games as well. Then it's 167+11=178 games won divided by 16 yrs = 11.125wins per season. Without the postseason Peyton has 167/16=10.4375 wins per season, not bad.
The second point puzzled me. How can any writer say that no one is even close, when Tom Brady is not only close, but even better because he has even more wins per season than Peyton, and more postseason wins than Peyton. Is this writer related to Peyton or something? Payoffs involved? Media bias anyone?
Brady has 148 + 18 = 167 games won divided by 13 years (minus one game but we will throw that in) to = 12.846 wins per season. Without the postseason Brady has 148/13=11.3846 wins per season.
So Brady wins one more game per season and closer to two games per season more when you include the playoffs.
What was humorous was that the two articles preceeding showed Brady being the most effective QB proficiency-wise of all time having the 1st, 3rd, 8th, and 9th best years ever while Peyton had the 5th and 6th best years ever. Rodgers had the 2nd best, Bree's had the 4th best, and Warner had the 7th best.
And another article showed that a long time NFL Stat Analyst recently passed away, identified the two most most important stats that identify who the best QBs are.
The stats were...yards per attempt and interceptions. Again, Brady comes out on top of Peyton (in fair disclosure, Aaron Rodgers has a better current mark than Brady yet without the prerequisite amount of attempts). Can't help but wonder if he read these before trying to even out the media info (with bogus info) before publishing his story.
Then today as if to just make me laugh. Kurt Warner was asked who would be the fans pick for the top 5 QBs and he said Peyton #1 and Brady #2. So the announcer says you think Brady is really the number 2 QB (as if to suggest he doesn't deserve to be up that high). Warner say no I would flip Manning and Brady because Brady is the better QB.
Then shortly after that, they had T.O. on and asked him who he would have liked to catch passes from and he says Brady but then is nudged and adds in as if he has to...Brady or Peyton. So funny and educational.
Even Wes Welker when asked who was a better QB, unlike Talib who now plays for the Broncos, Welker avoided the question saying Brady uses more hair gel.
Lastly, when Steve Young was asked who was the best ever QB, himself or Joe Montana, his response was Brady. The announcer says, so you think Brady is better than Montana? And Young says hey what about me (since the announcer just dropped him because he dared to raise Brady
up).
Sorry one last chuckle. Last year after Peyton had all that hype because of his raw numbers, just after the panel praised Peyton infinitum, the announcer asked the wrong question. He says so you would want Peyton over any QB ever for a championship game. Oops wrong question...
All four of the panelists looked at each other and said no, I would want Tom Brady. He just does more with less and gets more out of his people. He is clutch. One added, he also doesn't have a choking problem. Precious.
