Elway insists he's not looking to trade Tebow

Jan 9, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Kansas City Star

John Elway is barely into his first weekend as the Denver Broncos' new chief of football operations and already he's in damage-control mode.Elway took to his Twitter account Saturday to deny speculation he would trade quarterback Tim Tebow. The fuss started when Peter King strongly implied on NBC that Elway might trade Tebow to the team that hires ...

And St. Timothy of Teblowsville still sucks, still does not belong in the NFL, and will not have an NFL gig next year. When Jax, the football equivalent of the ugly, fat, broad at the end of the bar at last call doesn't want him, it's time to close out your tab Timmy and ride off into the sunset...don't worry, there are a plenty of wackjob filled churches all over America with Sunday picnic football games you can QB...it's perfect, because none of them bothered to learn a thing about the game because they were too busy reading fairy tales written by desert dwellers thousands of years ago..Win-win!

Why are people talking about Tebow? We should all be thinking about Manti Te'o. Let's all try to remember that a person who never existed is dead.

39 million and counting!!!!

How will buck tooth smelway outdo himself next year. I can't wait to see. Denver, America is not crying with you....those tears u see are tears from laughing so hard AT you and your Duky of Denver. That was classic, and you all bought in because the Especially StuPid Network told you what a demigod Peyton Missing is. Omaha-ha!!

Let's review, buck tooth brainiac traded a guy that somehow wins when he shouldn't because of his "throwing motion" for a guy that loses every big game he should win, and loses in spectacular fashion....while paying him nearly 100 million. Brilliant move!!! Seriously, last year's and this year's losses are much less embarrassing than having a QB with poor throw motion, that often wins games in exciting fashion. Wins are overrated. I think Manning looked damn sexy sitting on his butt watching another pick six run by him...really, and the throwing motion was just so pure...so perfect. I actually dvr'd his throwing motion and watch it repeatedly. Can't get enough of it. A thing of beauty, worth 39 million.

Look, I can help you cope. First, blame some young Bronco like you did last year for Peyton's perennial collapse. It will be harder this year but get ESPN to help. Second, pull a Tannenbaum and blame tebow. His real failure was not signing Sanchez butt fumble to a HUGE contract...or his many other costly mistakes...no it was TEbow for sure. I know Tebow didn't cost anything and didn't play much so he wasn't responsible for losses but he was certainly the NOTABLE mistake. Say something similar, everybody will love it. Finally, and I know this is painful, say you lost to a spectacular team. While this is hard it will shift the focus away from the ineptitude of Smelway and Manning. Use those talking points and u can spend another 19 million on manning next year and enjoy the rewards again. It is true entertainment for the rest of us so we highly encourage it.

There is so much more I could say . This is to easy. I will say this, Tebow's difficulty has nothing to do with his religion per se. Hate to break it to you pulpit pumpers. There r many other devout Christians in the league that r not harassed like Tebow. It's simple ugly jealousy....that's it! They r jealous of how much america likes Tebow. Nobody cares how pretty your throwing motion is, how good your enzone dance is, how deserving u are to be on the "hands team" because u touch the ball "every snap". We just aren't that into you.

Still waiting for the Nitwit - Bradfumble bowl. They have pretty throwing motions too. Oh the beauty of a game like that. Let's pay them more next year. We have paid buttfumble so much, perhaps it should be a Nitwit-buttfumble bowl.

Peace.

Ps- I predict Manning is done. He can't throw down the field anymore.

At least that would put a stop to the financial debacle that is the contract elway gave him

Elway has a decision to make. Either keep Peyton knowing you will entertain and make money during the regular season, and then be decimated in the post season, with no chance of winning when Peyton does his "thing" OR trade Manning and get something of value from some other idiot who thinks Manning is twice the player he is, just like the media paints him to be. Entertainment/money or chance to win. Elway now knows he can't win with Manning but still will opt for making money vice an opportunity to win. The day Peyton retires will be a sad day for America. We all love it when he proves the media wrong with his historic failures.
It has been said that Elway plans to play Manning next year hoping for another 50 touchdowns only to pull him and put in a replacement for the playoffs so Denver will at least have a chance to win. Think the terms used of Manning included - he gets too nervous to be successful in a big game and noodle arm. Any way you look at it, he is entertaining and makes us laugh, at Peyton and the media that supports him.

Well at least buck tooth promises to keep Manless so, given that he is also a bald face liar (see original article above), PAYton should be gone in no time.

Is it just me or are Smelway and Gary Busey brothers?

There is a resemblance. Very aware. But I think it's bold face liar not a bald face. Although you could be coining a new tern. After all it's possible to not have a bald face if you have a mustache or beard, and he doesn't. Go for it. Bald face it is.

Love the spell check :)

You know I really don't have anything against Payed-a-ton Manning. He is over-rated though. I think my grandma could have put on a better performance with all those offensive weapons he had at his disposal.

It is too bad the nfl didn't give Tebow a true shot. Bradford, Newton, RGIII and many others have had been given much more opportunity with less results in their first seasons. As previously mentioned, Tebow produced more than many of the "greats" in their first season, most notably Elway. I know he has quite a bit to learn but so does everybody their first couple of years.

I look forward to seeing if he gets a shot. If he does he will win the big one...more than once.

Don't disagree with you on this one.. Elway simply took what he thought was the better option afforded him, at least for the short term. Better option that is if he only watches the regular season. You'd think even Elway would know that Peyton would crumble come playoff time.
Reason...during the regular season you play a lot of losing teams and that's where Peyton excels. Come playoff time he has to play the better teams and that's when he folds. At least now Elway knows what the rest of us know. He thought wrong.

Think that's a bit hyperbole.
Elway too is trying to buck the trend. The trend says former players are no good as GMs. Even owners are humbled by the position (see Dallas). If Denver wants to win a SB they need to build from the ground up properly. Elway thought he could take a short cut to the top with Manning. Little did he know that it may be his ride down to the unemployment line if/when Peyton screws the pooch again. History says its a done deal so Elway's days are numbered. That's what happens when contractors use subpar materials. Lets see if Peyton beats up on the dregs of the league and then loses to teams with winning records YET AGAIN, resulting in another MVP not earned but given to Peyton.
Bottomline....teams makes money as fans get excited hoping for the big win, BUT then fans are crushed (pun intended) when Peyton does what Peyton does. The franchise then gets hammered by fans, Elway is fired and a new coach hunt begins.

Ok, So...Denver has the best offense in History and this whole thing is a failure because they lost the Super Bowl without 8 starters? Hmmm let's think about how Tom Brady was praised making it to the AFC Championship game without his Starters. The Key to this whole Debacle was the offensive line collapse in the big game. The fact that this offense was based on timing and the officials lack of Pass interference flags or Pro- Seattle flags in both the SB and NFC championship game set them to this free fall. It's was 8-0 and Julius Thomas was Held practically assaulted inside the Seattle 5 that was never flag and would've made this a 8-7 game. That changes the whole game. I know I was 100 ft from it.

You mean best QB in the minds of the sports writers and therefore the lemmings that believe their hype. Ask yourself, why do the GMs and Owners pick Brady 8 to 1 over Manning? Partial answer below:
Definition of lunacy is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Peyton almost always gets the same result. He loses against winning teams. Face it, Peyton is a big game choker who throws ducks. Only reason for his success has been having the best receivers, an Oline that protects better than the rest and playing in a dome and in the thin air of Denver. You have bought into all the inflated lies the media puts out about how great Peyton is based on raw numbers. Consider....Even this year his completions were shorter than Brady's. It was his receivers with their YAC that made the difference. Instead of them getting the credit Peyton sucks it all up. Give any QB the best receivers, best protection and let them play in a dome or in a stadium a mile up where the air is thin, and they will all have grossly inflated numbers. Yet Manning still throws more than 50% more Interceptions than Brady even with all his advantages. And whats that thing coaches harp on....turnovers lose games. Manning is a turnover machine. The bigger the game, the more turnovers. Yet he still states his goal is to own all the records. Thats the difference between him and Brady. Manning wants the records, Brady thinks winning is the goal and will sacrifice his numbers for the win and that is why smart people chose Brady. Still, Brady and Brees have kept pace with Manning despite having so much less. Especially Brady. He has had crap receivers for years and plays in the wind and rain in the cold northeast. Yet with Brees being the younger of the two, he will ultimately pass Peyon and Brady in EVERY category. He also had the benefit of passing in a dome for half his career. Then with just as many SB wins and a better postseason record to go along with his better raw longevity stats, no one will be able to put Manning in the Brees conversation, let alone Brady and Montana.
