It is a sign of how excited people are about the Jets that my son, who has grown up in Philadelhia but knew his dad was a Jet fan from back when Joe Willie guanteed a win, went out to find a place showing the Jets game yesterday rather than watch the dreadful Philadelphia Iggles. The Jets have been one of the worst franchises in pro sports over the past 30-35 years, but give them credit: They are good, and the franchise has turned a big corner. Give credit to ownership, the coaches and the players. Go, Jets!!

Great article. It's been some time since I have had anything good to say about Eric Mangini or Brian Schottenheimer, but both were at their absolute best on Sunday. What I loved was thay they stuck with the running game, and the running game proved out with Leon busting one and Jones looking a bit like a Number 28 we all loved so much. Now if the Jets don't it go their heads and play at a high level of concentration and energy I don't see another loss the rest of the season.

Enjoy it now closet Jet fans. Suddenly the coach and the QB are geniuses so say you? When Favre pulls a Belichick next year and bolts you'll have no QB. That's right after he pulls another choke in the playoffs...

A very nice win. It feels good to contemplate the positive possibilities for the remainder of the season instead of dreading a horrible end to it. Hopefully the last 2 very important wins won't create the misconception that things are locked up for the remainder of the year. The Jets still have to perform well and win their games to progress to, and through, the playoffs. Did I say playoffs? It's been a while since we've used that word and Jets in the same sentence. Sounds rather nice, no?
