The Browns will be good this year once again. The cornerback position you can get by with to me as long as they can stop the run which has been the weakest of the team since they came back to Cleveland in 99. Cleveland has high expections this year and better bring it because Dallas and then Pittsburgh will be ready.
I think if they sign Colvin that will be good for the team because it adds depth to the defense which will be better then want people think. They have run support this year. With that said I can see Cleveland winning at least 11-12 games this year. I think this with be the best division in football this year. I wouldn't be to worried about Pittsburgh it's Baltimore that's scary because you don't know what to expect from them. All and all Cleveland will win the division and will be the second seed behind New England in the playoffs |

Baltimore will not win half their games. No team in the Division has a chance to win 12 because of the schedule.
One bad CB can destroy a defense and it does effect the run stopping ability as well. It is telling that they are still looking hard for corners. It means they do not think they have what they need. The new defensive linemen will make the defense better, no more worst in the NFL. But unless the corners get it done they will be lucky to be top 20. Reports of a 200% improvement over last year at this time of the offense give hope that they will be more consistant. Fewer 3 and outs and fewer half games with little scoring. The glowing reports that Derek Anderson has taken control of the offense and has no real competition by further separating himself from Brady Quinn will mean a better chance for the team to gel. Last years waste of time QB competition prevented progress on offense and thank goodness we do not have that issue any longer. Injuries are big concerns not only the Holly injury but even more on offense. Starting RG Tucker already out until late in camp at least, Heiden coming off back surgery and not ready to practice, Winslow had knee surgery and is not practicing, Braylon Edwards injured in the Holly collision has yet to practice since, JJ is out after knee surgery and staff infection. That is alot of medical attention and rehab that has to happen in a couple months so that this team can get their act together for tough games to start the season. Not to mention having to get through camp and preseason games without further injuries. Plenty of reason for great optimism but enough worries to remind us this is Cleveland sports. I would take 10 wins right now and call it a regular season and move on to the playoffs as no other team in the division can win 10. |

Great post, Krishna. I would like to hear more from you in the future. Thanks.

They were looking for corners before Holly got hurt as they only had 3 true corners in the depth chart. I think their starting two are the real deal, they just need a little more depth because right now, one injury ruins the backfield. One more corner gives them a full backfield with an FS as the 5th backup. |
