DA has proven one thing that has impressed me, he has gotten the team to play whistle to whistle. I truly think the issues lie with Knapp and Tarver and some weak positions. We need upgrades on DB's. And need to find a durable RB. That will get us on the right path.

I like Dennis Allen and Reggie McKenzie...I just don't think one year is enough to truely judge them. I'll have a stronger opinion based on what moves are made this offseason and what results display next season.

Don't get me started on where Al Davis went wrong after the Gruden era...Some of it I think started in the Gruden era.

Couldn't agree with you more Faith. Also need a few upgrades on both lines.

Yes sir Misterio and I say we take one in the first round of the draft...DB and OL I think are our highest priorities. I'd like another RB too, but I think we can get a legit one in free agency to buy us some time until next year unless there's a guy that we just can't pass on.

I think the first thing that needs to happen is deciding if they want to keep McFadden. If they do they need to figure out an offensive scheme he can flourish in and drop Knapp and go after the right OC.. Sounds nuts, but I think McFadden is still a beast, jusy not being used properly. Then upgrade the o line to create lanes for him.
Like a musician, no point in having a top of the instrument if you don't know how to use it.

I think McFadden is a huge risk/reward and I'm sure that will come up sooner or later. He's had one good season since entering the NFL, but we have other issues and who know's what is at the top of Reggie McKenzie's priority board this offseason. I think DB and OL are huge priorities but if they decide to cut ties with McFadden, then RB becomes a high priority and the same if they opt away from Seymour and Kelly at DT due to their age.

With Al Davis, it was somewhat predictable as to what was gonna happen, but with Reggie McKenzie, you never really know and personally I think he's just trying to balance the checkbook but now I think Mark Davis has gotten on him and wants wins

No one wants a win more than the fans. But its just a big mess in Oakland. I say completely dismantle it and start by getting some draft picks for these underachieving broke dicks! Time to move on and its not going to be an over night thing. Hard and emberassing times ahead!

I'm starting to drink your Coolaid Knappster. If they don't split Reece out with McFadden in the backfield soon, they're definitely incompetent. How about seeing what Pryor has to offer in ANY type of formation while we're at it? Would hate to maximize their weapons I guess. I think Allen is more worried about the "Tebow Effect" unfortunately.

Palmer has been one of two bright spots consistantly this season, the other is Reece. I have a hard time even talking pryor when Palner has played as well as he has. I was very critical of Palner in the off season. But he has played well.

It seems the column is correct that the Raiders need to make a decision regarding DA. Chances are he will stay. Personally, I would like to see Gruden considered for the job. With Gruden, the Raiders would jump light years ahead of the "rebuilding process" with DA.

A dominate DB in this defense would not seem to have the impact a dominte DB would have in the old Raider D-Scheme. It seems a 1st Round pick placed in defensive front seven would have the most positive impact for the team.

I think it is crazy-talk to get rid of McFadden or trade McFadden. Coming in to the last couple of seasons, the Raiders had young talented players. The reason for the decline in this year's team performance is that McKenzie purged the roster of talented players. Getting rid of McFadden would be another mistake.

Balancing the checkbook? To me, McKenzie does not know how to manipulate the Cap like Al did.
