Look, I like Rolle but he is done. How many people with a surgically repaired neck are going to play 100% even if they are able? No one. It is too damn scary. Also, Rolle is not as good a corner as Chris Mac. Our defense would definately be better is Chris was back. He can cover tall receivers. Rolle can't. Never has and he sure won't now. I would rather see use continue with the corners we have now and figure out what the issue is with Chris and get him back on the field. This is a really big deal. We use to have a pass rush but we can't seem to get pressure with only 4 on the line. Maybe it is the personel that are on the field during passing downs. I am not sure but I know we have the talent to get to the QB but I am not seeing it as often as we need. People can't run on us but they sure can pass.

Rolle, Heap, and a few others seem like good guys but are a little fragile to play in the NFL. I would rest Rolle until the NYG game. Maybe give him limited action in certain situations this Sunday. About Heap, at least as a blocker, he's playing every game. Am I the only one that cringes every time he gets popped after catching a ball?

Good to have Rolle back ANY help is good help in the secondary esp one with his experience! The team is 5-3 not 3-5 lol, have a little faith and enjoy the ride. We aren't supposed to be here this year, lighten up!

Ditto! Don't know if it's possible under the cap to pick up his monster salary now that he's been waived. but he'd be reborn with the Ravens' defense ( not 100% man to man coverage like Oakland and he'd get some help) and the currently positive team atmosphere. We need real help at corner for the 2nd half of this season and going forward.

The Ravens should line Suggs up with Johnson and have him hit him hard at the line of scrimmage to throw off the timing of the play. Johnson is a beast.

Good points. I am not sure we want an apprehensive Rolle covering this beast Andre Johnson. It sounds like he will provide depth and experience in certain situations and perhaps thats his best role (pardon the pun!) Maybe we will pursue the recently released Oakland CB DeAngelo Hall-another topic alltogether.

listen up guys, we will not go after d. hall. do you really think harbaugh wants another "shoot off at the mouth, penalty machine" like c-mac? b/c thats what hall is. he is a decent cb, but not worth the penalty yards he'll give up and the piss poor attitude he brings. right now, the d and o are one big happy family. you want to screw that up for a slightly above average cb who will want a ton money (that we can't afford right now?). just give rolle plenty of safety help and it will be fine. their starting qb isn't even playing!!!!

Agree with you on the chemistry experiment problem with Hall, however, he might thrive in a winning system. Who knows ?

As far as this Sunday, you could argue that Rosenfels poses a larger challenge than Schaub. He threw 2 TD passes against the Vikes vaunted D in their house, and he nearly beat the Colts (before being stripped of the ball in the 4th Q). My point, our secondary cant take any QB, and I mean, any QB lightly.

The best way to stop a passing game is Double the other teams best wr, make someone else beat you. And get to the QB. The Ravens need to turn Pryce, McClain, Barnes and Suggs loose and let them go after the QB and throw in some DB blitzing!

I didn't realize Houston was the NFL's 5th ranked passing offense. Scary stuff and always has been with our Raven team.

I think Hall Will be able to help us in some cspscity this year. I dont think his attitude will be a problem because they have too many veterans on this team that wont allow someone to come from off the streets and disrupt what may be a special season. And beside if the team continues to win then what could Hall complain about. I myself think the risk is worth it. You have a good young corner that can help at a position of weakness. Sign Hall put C Mac On IR and allow him to get the knee right for next year and you will have a pretty formidible secondary next year with Landry, Reed, Hall, C Mac, and Rolle as the nickle

Rex Ryan's brother will have the scoop on Hall. He has been a good CB in the past and might be a little humbled by being dropped. As a Virginia native and a VT player he may be happy to come back east.

I agree. We give so much cushion to receivers the kill us in the short game and the long game. We need to stop giving free release and start popping folks within the 5 yards that we are allowed to disrupt their routes.

We definetly have an issue with our CBs. It is never good when you have to start your #3 guy. Even if Rolle does play he will not be at 100%.

I don't think we will go after Hall, and it has nothing to do with if he is a head case. It is simply money. He will require a huge contract and he has a 16mil injury clause. Don't the ravens have enough to worry about next year with signing Lewis, Suggs and Scott? Is there really enough room in the salary cap to try and fit in Hall?

As to Heap being fragile, look at the hits he has taken over the years. He may be banged up and he has played through injuries. I cannot blame the guy, Boller used to leave a lot of recievers out to dry, and Heap was his No 1 target. So cut Heap a break, I would love to see them get it to him in open space and let him put a hit on the defenders, it would give him some confidence back.

I agree with most of the comments. When Rolle was healthy he was a good cover man but a below average tackler. I think it is lunacy for him to put himself in this kind of jeopardy with a "surgically repaired neck". For a little guy, he has had a successful career... It's time for him to look at his long term health and think about a new career. Honestly, the Rolle/McCallister days are probably gone and the team needs to replace these guys. Unfortunately, Ed Reed's long term health is questionable as well.

Even in good times, pass coverage has not been the Ravens strong suit. Peyton Manning exposed this weakness earlier in the season. The team needs to respectfully get through this season and deal with this huge secondary problem in the off-season...

We can't take a chance on Hall right now. We can't afford a distraction in the clubhouse. We have something good going here why take a chance an "F" it up.

Strange to be most worried about our defense going into a game, but there it is. Facing an effective passing team on the road usually spells trouble for the Ravens, and they may be finding it hard to not overlook the Texans.

Let's see what Ryan's schemes and Harbaugh's discipline can do. I hope he kicked off the week by showing the team "Lowlight" reel footage from the Indy game.
