Cordle was always more interested in what his gf was doing on the sideline, would sprint over to the end zone after every home game, not to sing carmen ohio, but to kiss and hug his girlfriend...looks like he made the right choice, chasing the tail instead of an nfl dream because he got the girl and has no shot in the nfl. Like so many others have said, thankfully we get a new tackle next season.
As for the numerous Cordle articles...it is what the dispatch does. They pick one outspoken offensive lineman every year and purge him for quotes and stories. TJ Downing, Alex Boone, Jim Cordle...
TJ didn't fair so well, cocaine and a firearm, we all know about godzilla, errr Alex Boone and his temper tantrum in California. I hope for Cordle his head is slightly more screwed on than the ones the dispatch followed before him. the dispatch curse anyone?
You forgot Kirk Barton. He was quoted non stop, and he was on 1460 quite a bit. I thought he was an idiot, like the others. Why cant we get some hard nosed guys in here like Shane Olivea, Alex Stepanavich, Adrien Clarke, etc etc. You take a look at those guys and know they arent playing around. I look at Cordle and see a super skinny neck and face, and Boone was a little prankster. I want some lineman with shaved heads, beards/goatees, and a bad attitude. Why is that so hard to find in Ohio, or even the midwest? Im like Al Davis in the 70's, the guys need to pass the look test. Just because they are big and tall doesent mean they pass the look test.

How could I forget Barton? He did get quite a bit of face time. TJ was a BA, the mohawk and he was pretty nasty on the field. I think it was injuries and maybe recreational habits that cut his NFL career sort. Other than that I completely agree...so far Brewster is the only one of the heralded Brew Crew that has made an impact. Kind of funny that the Big Ten is known for having huge offensive lines, and often times we do put out an average line of 6'1 or 6'2 and 300 lbs but their play doesnt match their size. Or maybe it does, because quick DEs make easy work of our tackles.

I think the best lineman we've in recent times was Tyler Whaley, a walk on from Ironton. He was but 5'9 however he played with the fiercest attitude. Led the buckeyes on their first TD drive down in Texas in 06. Alas, we decided to move him to fullback instead and give the reigns to Cordle...

Isn't his primary position center, due to numerous ol injuries he was used at numerous ol positions, may help him out as he can play anywhere on the line. I hope he gets drafted and fulfills his dream. I tend to support and cheer for all former buckeyes, especially the ones who stay, get their degree and have busted their butts for osu

He has the skinniest face and neck I have ever seen on a 300 lb man and oddly it seems like he and Eddie George have the same ability to manufacture facial hair.
