i will give it to you guys that jackson is a reach in the second round... the only reason he was a reach is because he didnt play for a D1 college... that knocks his points down a lot, but come on... watch the kid play the game... he is out there and yes, he was raw this year... but if williamson could catch, jacksons stats would be 2 tds more in those games... someone watch some fricken film... his release is almost textbook, and his throws are accurate... we have to give him someone to throw to and most importantly... build connections with the wide receivers... look at the redskins... all stars every single year, and never make it... why??? because they dont play together.. a whole lot of allstars and no team...
Redskins are old. Brunell is Brad Johnson, only left-handed.........

ESPN has declared many times it will take years to get TJack ready for prime time.

And the Vikes could've had him in the 4th or 5th round. They spent too much.

THEY SPENT TOO MUCH on Tavarius and now they make it worse by:

1) Saying 'we're not looking for a veteran'.

2) We are not drafting a QB

3) Idiots on Topix think Foley's Follies will have a happy ending.

Jackson's the guy. That's why he's not adding a veteran. Childress is telling TJ, you don't even have to look over your shoulder. It's your team.

first off- how the hell would you know when tjack was going to get taken and if we coulda even got him in those rounds... secondly- you need to stop believing everything that espn tells you...

I didn't hear any of that leading up to and on draft day. It was stated that he would be a project, but I don't remember anyone saying it would take years.
Since then, Viking personal, including Childress, have remarked on how much quicker Jackson is picking things up.

And your flat wrong about him being available in the 4th or 5th.
Several teams secretly (including the Vikings) worked him out prior to the draft and 2 teams (I can't remember which) remarked on draft day their disappointment on losing him to Minnesota.

Of course all of this moot. Only time will tell if he was worthy of a 2nd rounder. I'm betting that he was.

That said, I still hope we take a QB in FA (Plumber, Schaub, someone) to push both Bolinger and Jackson during training camp.

I'm a beleiver in Jackson. However, we had better do something about getting him some one to throw the ball to during this offseason. I gave up on Plummer but, If we somehow did get Schaub and he and Jackson compete in training camp, Wow. Either way you'd have a good backup! Not very likely though. I beleive Jackson is the future for better or worse. He does have the skills to be special.
