Full story: TwinCities.com

It's a good bet the Minnesota Vikings, now that Brett Favre has arrived, will try hard to trade backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson by the end of the week.

If you weren't expecting Brett Favre to come back next year, why in the world would you trade your two best quarterbacks now, and start over next year? Doesn't make sense to me, but it's the media and the Vikings front office...go figure.

How is this story any different than the one you wrote last week, or the week before that, or the week before that. C'mon Chas, get off the bar stool and get some new stuff for your column. Please!

Even a 6th rounder for TJack would be a steal. This sounds like a great plan.

the only dumber front-office moves than this are usually made by teams like the toronto maple leafs (making a rough and tumble teams in a time where speed and agility are more rewarded) and people running sports leagues (gary bettman in the NHL (in general idocy, not just the phoenix situation) and the head of the NCAA (for keeping the BCS when the bigger bucks would be made from TV would be in a 16 team playoff system (would also allow for inclusiveness of the smaller conferences and keep politicans from tampering with it))).

How do you write "Minnesota vikings will try tarvaris jackson now" Then when the actual story starts he says "bet the vikings POSSIBLY will trade tarvaris"Quit printing stuff trying to dictate what you feel the organization will do.I'll you this if brett get's Waxed what will they do with sage or david(lol) booty?

It's evident that 4 QB's are too many, but I don't see the need to panic. There's still two weeks until the regular season starts. When another team approaches the Vikings, and it will happen, let them decide who they want. Tarvaris, Sage, or John David....it doesn't really matter, whichever one is in demand will bring the best draft choice.

Brett at number one, and any of the others can be 2 & 3.

As for next year, let's wait for this year...don't get ahead of yourself, unless you're Shooter and feel the need to be first, but not necessarily right!

Favre is 39 with a partial rotator cuff tear and just had surgery on his arm, Rosenfels missed a week of practice after his first hit in his first preseason game with the Vikes, Jackson missed a week and a half after getting hurt the second day of training camp, and Booty hasn't played a meaningful down in a regular season NFL game. Why all this talk and speculation about getting rid of a quarterback so soon? Doesn't anyone else see the potential problems here and the need for as many quarterbacks in the system as we can keep? Just relax and let the situation play out. Don't get rid of any one of them until you absolutely have to.

Is this just a wild guess column, or is it based on something besides your opinion? When you say "It's expected that ... ", is it expected by you, or by someone who has something to base it on?

This is the kind of article that might be expected from Adam Schefter or Ed Werder, throwing crap against the wall hoping some might stick. If you're writing what you think might happen, then say so in the article rather than implying you know something nobody else knows..

Sheesh.

'Regardless of how the Vikings fare this season, it's also a good bet they will have to find a way to climb up in the first round of next year's draft to choose their QB of the future."

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

Just go out and get another Rent-A-Wreck like Favre.....

This is what makes even more sense: Jackson being a restricted free agent after this season could get the Vikings way more in return by not trading him. If, and thats a big "IF", someone offers him a contract after this season, they would have to give a second round pick (I think) in return for the Vikings letting him go. Or they resign him for cheap one more year and let the competition that was supposed to happen this year, happen next year. And still be able to try to draft a rookie in the next draft. The question is, "is Booty really worth hanging on to?". I think Shooter just spouts off his opinions and doesn't give us what's real. "Shootin' Blanks"

While the article sheds nothing new, I have to say Tim Tebow? Tebow won't see anything close to the first round of the NFL draft. Tim Tebow, one of the best college QBs of all time, will struggle to fit in to the NFL. Don't just throw out popular college QB names and expect them all to stick.

I think we should go back to when Dennis Green A Associates said supposedlly that we couldn't let CHicago get Donte Culpepper so we had to move up in the draft. Ive hated him ever since.(fatassblack dude scared of a bumass looking D-lineman...bbum) Randy never got mad when Donte overthrew him. But when Randy was doing work and did one thing wrong .. Culppeepper was YYAPAPAPPIINNGGG. Thats why we need Tavaris to go because he'll never be a better player than the coach.(YOucantbebetterthanDad) . Vikes are weak.
were just the best team every-year.

It is necessary to trade Jackson now otherwise there is a chance that he might play again. Then nobody will have any interest in him.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Aquarius

You're full of energy and determination right now, especially when it comes to nailing an ambition or making a name for yourself. You'll want to give it your best shot, and you'll get very annoyed if you feel your efforts are being frustrated by others. Watch out for a rather tense atmosphere with someone older or more influential than you, as this could lead to a row.
