Now who starts at QB for the Minnesota Vikings?

Tarvaris Jackson is making a case to be the Vikings' starting quarterback. He threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter and went on to have one of the best games of his career. Full Story

I think TJ has done his homework.....But I would
ask Matt Birk, he calls all his plays and keeps the dipstick from ***** all over himself.

goose has a cracked vertebrae in his lower back. they said it sounds worse than it is and he will most likely be healthy enough to play next week. at no point in this season did i think goose was the better option, but it seems to have worked out b/c tavi seems to have progressed from his benching. it is interesting that klink has now gone from saying goose will play if healthy to just not answering QB questions. in my experience reading between the lines on klinks vague comments, i think that Tavi will be the starter. if it were going to be goose, he would have just said the same thing as in the past...goose will start if healthy.
WHAT HAPPENED TO FAT PAT? IS HE OKAY AND WHY IS THERE NO REPORTING ON IT?
Pat Williams has a broken shoulder blade, out 2-6 weeks.
T-jack will undoubtedly be the starter (for now), and I will be holding my breath on every pass. I was pleased to see some touch on his screen passes though, and his accuracy was there on every throw but the long one over the middle to Berrian.

Huh??? T-Jack calls the plays in the huddle. Birk calls the O-Line adjustments based on the defense lineman positions, two different things.

i think we should leave jackson as starter the remainder of the season. if we dont then we should at least let him play next week and see what happens. i find him much better the gus right now, gus brought us to where we are at, now jackson has to finish what gus started.

i'll admit jackson has had a couple good games but take notice he was improved the last few games last year so we still should draft a qb for the future bradford or harell

Coach has gotta be damn tempted to start TJax. I'm not taking anything away from Gus. Remember: He was the QB that got The Vikes in contention. He did the same thing back in the old Culpepper days. Gus is a real warrior, I'll grant him that. Man, the dude has taking a beating!(and he bleeds purple)

Jackson is Childress' project. Was brought in and groomed to be the future franchise QB. He's been brought along and nurtured for this moment in time. And Gus is a damn good, and unselfish teacher. Turn Jackson loose against Atlanta. I've had a case of the @$$ against them since 1998.

QB?

And they'd be right. Because shockingly, it HAS been 1.5 games and it has NOT been against good defenses. Enough said. Having a couple better games than Gus doesn't make you good. Gus had a couple games better than T-Joke. That hardly makes him the next Peyton. Both are back-up caliber quarterbacks. Regardless of how the season finishes or with whom, we need to use our first pick on a QB.

Thank you IAVikefan, for understanding the Vikings concept of football. That is something a lot of these morons don't seem to get.
No, we don't need a Marino or Moon. We need a good, solid, QB that limits mistakes. For a perfect example, check Steelers/Big Ben in '04 and '05.
Could one of the genius' on here please explain to me why 11 for 17 and 4 TDs is not sufficient enough to get the job he rightfully deserves, back.
Could you please tell me why a game and a half does not warrant getting the starting job back, when two games warranted getting benched. Oh, he just needs to play two more quarters and then he can officially have is job back.
Is TJ a great QB, no. Is he going to be great, probably not, since there are only a few QBs who are actually GREAT quarterbacks. There is no one on that football team that put more time and effort into improving this past off season. TJ is perfect for what the Vikings need at QB.
Oh yeah, to the few idiots that claim the Cardinals were not playing for anything; you idiots. There is a 3 seed to play for. And you play for momentum going into the playoffs. You don't want to back pedal in. You sure as hell don't take 3 weeks off going in. I wish y'all knew as much as you thought you knew about football.
Honestly, I don't care who's QB if we win. Frankly, TJ has been my dude since his rookie year, and he deserves to play. Who ever it is though, we might be playing for a bye.
TJ and All Day, bring us home
You're half right. We don't need a strong armed deep passer when playing the WCO. However you do need a QB that can make quick reads and find the 2nd,3rd and 4th receiver with a three or four step drop. TJ has always struggled to find the secondary receiver and panicks under pressure. He isn't allowed to make adjustments at the line and frankly I don't think he can reads defenses well enough to have that responsibility. He has played against the worst team in the league and the Cardinals who were flat after clinching their first division title in about 35 years. Yes they wanted to win and certainly didn't tank the game but any true student of sports psychology would have understood the reason for their pathetic performance agianst a more determined team. Wait until after the next two games and then we will talk again about Jackson. If he continues to play as well and puts up 3 or 4 TD's against the Falcons and the Giants he will have earned all the praise we can heap on him and should make us a true contender in the playoffs. TWT.

Kid, I have been a Viking fan since your daddy was leaving stains on his sheets thinking about sophomore chicks..give it a rest. you can line up at the Kool-aid stand if you wish. Have at it, the Kid (TJack) had a decent game. Passed for a buck sixty and stayed safe against the leaders of the NFC West (gasp) and the 0-14 Liedowns..hardly the stuff of legends..give it a rest Francis, let him demonstrate for the first time against a real football team that this team can depend on him when the rushing attack is stopped. Let the record show (please research before responding) that TJack has never led the team to victory when the rushing has been stuffed. Now, I think Gus is past his prime but what were the rushing stats in the New Orleans game..or Carolina..look, TJack got a chance to watch and learn...maybe he learned something, who knows..I am still waiting for him to make a few decent reads on the defense (skewering a 1 deep zone with man on the corners isn't exactly rocket science when they are leaning forward reading run first...) His progress has been commendable, but it came against ideal opponents for him to throw against and under pretty decent conditions..the Vikes got all over the Cards early and there was no pressure..just execute..if we fancy ourselves a battle tested honest to god playoff contender, we better be able to throw once in while when the running game is bottled up. He has not performed once in his storied career in that capacity successfully. Go ahead, look it up..I can wait. When you shoot your mouth off, do a little research and back your your c.r.a.p. up with a little factual backup..otherwise you are just another pile of boygoo.

Keep slingin' it, T-Jack! I think T-Jack is just what the team needs right now... a little explosiveness to put opposing defenses on alert. They can't stack the line now because Berrian is showing his stuff and has apparently gotten over his turf toe. Shiancoe is holding on to the ball, Wade is doing his part, as is Rice. Now, I just want to see another 40 yard reception by Jimmy K.!!
Uh-huh.
