Looking at that video on Berrian Many times he had a step on the defender & had to slow down & reach back for the ball So maybe with McNabb throwing to him & hitting him in stride the turn out could be good if Berrian can keep the ball in his hands. Go Vikings

Berrian a number one receiver Wow Then again I would had never thought that Rice would be considered one of the Top free agent wide receivers after only one good year of play & being hurt most of last. Who would have thought the NFL come to this. Are they trying to talk us into believing these guys are number one receivers? I Never thought of Berrian as one or Rice Not after just the One good year When Does one good year make them a number one receiver does it in your eyes. Go Vikings

When MN picked up Berrian from the Bears and gave him that big contract, they expected him to be a #1 receiver....why should we expect less? With 2 TEs, our WRs can not be hoping to catch 100 balls. I hope they spread the ball around, everyone gets 50 to 60 catches so no defense can double team any particular player. A very balance attack....SKOL:

"spread the ball around, everyone gets 50 to 60 catches so no defense can double team any particular player. We have Percy Harvin. Your game plan wont work with us. Berrian, Jenkins, Shiancoe, Camarillo are journeyman which means ball gets deflected or catch the ball and get tackled.

To this, I say BS. Who is the one of the proud owners of the longest TD catch in league history, one of those GB guys or a Viking? Berrian...99 yds. Proving we can score from anywhere. While YAC is great, it is not always necessary if the receiver knows down and distance and sets up accordingly. Just catch the damn ball.

N.E. spread the ball around quite well last season.
Even traded the deep threat.
Sometimes the Qb makes the receiver,
sometimes the other way around.
Guess we'll see
because
it is what it is.
Scoring from anywhere on the field is a myth.
Cardinals have and had possession receivers, not a deep threat.Fitzpatrick is not a deep threat.
C.Carter was not a deep threat.
Possession receivers do the most good, moving the chains and time of possession is where it's at.Hitting the bomb although exciting, won't be are MO.
Obviously we have lots of question marks, including McNabb,
we'll just have to wait and see who flourishes in the new system.
Patience's for now.

Yep...and this is why Avant is an ass and I will never, ever, ever, ever, let up on him...ever!

Joe Montanna and the 49's. Big gun? Rice?...slow compared to his standards. The big playmakers in Philly will make the playoffs and fall flat again just like last year. I said it then and I'm saying it now.

Possession receivers, pound it with AD and play defense. Yeah, we have problems there. I still don't like our secondary and O-line as questionable as ever but that style of play does tend to work.

Look at all the different backs and receivers the Pats have had over the years and always were winners. Even did well with Cassel. GOOD COACHING. We haven't had that since before this forum began. I'm pulling for Frazier of course.

Five weeks and one day. New TV coming. I'll be watching my Vikes vs. Chargers and rooting against all Assvant's guys. Traitor and fake Viking fan that he is.

Hate to defend the Vegas goof but...that was kind of a busted play by the defense. And I REALLY HATE defending him.

Still.....Frerotte to Berrian, 99yrds. TD.

It's in the books and it was fun to watch with Al Michaels calling the action.

"Just catch the damn ball" is just the beginning for great receivers. YAC is what they strive for. All the top teams 2011 have at least 3 playmakers on the offense.

Eagles- Vick, Jackson, Maclin, McCoy.

Packers- Rodgers, Jennings, Driver, Jones

Falcons- Ryan, White, Jenkins, Jones

Saints- Henderson, Meachen, Colston, Sproles.

Texans- Johnson, Foster, Slaton, Jones.

Tampa- Williams, Winslow, Blount

Chargers- Jackson, Floyd, Mathews

Chiefs- Charles, McCluster, Bowe

Glad to see someone believes in Jenkins as a play maker,
but
he's a Viking not a Falcon.
Some posters should just get lost.

Berrian come to the Vikings in 2008 For a 42 million contract 16 million guaranteed There WRs at that time was Rice & Bobby Wade So sure Berrian Was a Welcome But Did any of the fans want him at the time Not many & the reason was Droping the ball & He Stills does. I know Berrian had the highest average per catch in the NFL back in 2009 - 20.1 yards but he still was under a 1000 yards & only seven TDs This isnt the performance of a number one receiver.is it? Not seeing a 1000 yard season with the Vikes.. He has had chance after chance to be a number one wideout & hasnt been one yet. He is being paid as one but up to now He has been a second at best. & 100 catchs Wow I like the Two Big TEs & maybe between them Yes we will see 100 I also like Big Jenkins But if that was to happen to one guy Wow The Vikings are super bowl champs this year. Go Vikings

One must remember that the Vikings run a west coast system & I know Musgrave has a new west coast type put in But it wont very to much from the old Other then two TEs It still will be short throws that are as good as a run throws like 3 to 4 yards This goes back to the 49ers they did the same thing Working down field small steps that are hard to stop then score. Bill Walsh did the same thing as Musgrave Bill customize the system to fit each Rice & Montana's & Roger Craig style of play. Musgrave has said his system will have that Deep ball more then the past years & I like Two TEs sets Theres so much that can be done & a lot can be done with Harven in the slot With the two TEs. Gives the Vikes five receivers on the field at the same time Two Big target TEs Will be fun to look at I think Go Vikings

Berrian may have a 99 yd TD (all he did was run in a straight line) but he would still be the 7th option in the passing game if he were playing for the Packers. Which means he could not come close to making the Packers team. The Packers WR can and do play from all WR positions, they are far more talented. Harvin is good WR and can be dangerous but I think that is it.

I have been one of the guys calling for Berrians release. Since that did not happen, IF he finishes camp as the Vikings choice, I will support that and hope he has a great year. He will not be given a pass by Frasier, he has to earn his way onto the squad.....but he MAY be the best option we have in camp.

Why do you assume McNabb will be hitting him in the hands? There is miles of film showing McNabb hitting his receivers in the feet, on the rare occasions he got it that close. A has-been QB with an almost-was WR isn't gonna' get any Super Bowls.

lol I see your a McNabb hater . Just look at the Vikes practice where McNabb hits Berrian in stride Its a perfect throw & yes I know practice isnt game time But its where it all starts right. Go Vikings
