It was great to see excellent coaching, very good execution and awesome schemes on both sides of the ball.
That defeated look on Nick Saban's face is priceless.
Mahalo Ute's for another moment like what the Bronco's did to Oklahoma.
Kinda puts things in perspective on how far Coach Mack needs to get to from where he's at.

I don't like the Mountain West, but any "non-BCS" conference that can kick the butt of any so-called BCS team has got my support.

As far as I'm concerned, the BCS has a great big bullseye painted on their backs.

Too bad UH is the only one to have a tarnished record.

Great game..

Thank you Utah!! For showing that no matter how many people beat their chest and say this Conference has these teams and they've played those teams, that's why we're better, the reason why you "PLAY THE GAME"...

Play the damn game.. Anyone that's played this game knows you play the game.. Hell with statistics, and who's preseason #1 and how many top 25 teams they've beat.. SO WHAT??

Play the damn game.. Eventually, someone will say, "You think Utah can actually beat *insert your team here*.." I don't think they can beat them.. I'm saying if you want to know, in reality, whose the best team.. settle it on the field.. all this other flag waiving is just
"speculation" and pride.

Well done Utah!! You represented well!!

Saban and Alabama's offensive play calling in the 2nd half was horrendous. Utah's speed to the perimeters ate up their short pass game and outside run game. Alabama should have exposed their safeties with over the middle passing and using Julio Jones as their X factor. He was not used enough.
Then again, if your defense can't stop a little Mountain West team, then the point is moot.
Roll Over Tide
It was really sad. Poor John Parker was running for his life. He wasn't protected good enough. Julio missed balls that he shouldn't have missed. Anyways, nobody thought we would make it this far. And if we made it this far this year, just think of next year! ROLL TIDE!

WOW
I was totally against the Sugar Bowl as a throw away BCS bowl game. It stood as my prime example of a goofy match-up.

I watched the Cotton Bowl first. As a Red Raider fan, I was disgusted and turned the TV to Xbox.
When i switched back, I thought I was in the twilight zone.

Way to go Utes! Get into the Pac10...

<quoted text>Once again? When was the last time? lol Hats off to the PAC this season. Conference strength varies from year to year and the PCA was rather good this season, however; it is often called the PAC-1.
Other than USC, the SEC has blasted the PAC in recent years and overall (see all time record). Don't get me wrong, I think the PAC was as good as any conference in 08.
Big 10 down, Big 12 needs defense, etc.. To echo a previous post, PLAYOFFS.
What is the PAC-10 vs. SEC regular season record over the past 5 years? Also, what is the PAC-10's record in bowl games over the past 5 years? Are you just going by rumor and intuition, or do you actually have some hard facts and data to substantiate your claims?

Here is some data for you from: http://www.secsportsfan.com/sec-vs-pac-10-foo...

The SEC leads the Pac-10 59-37-5 (.609). However, over the past 10 years (1998 - 2007), the Pac-10 actually leads the SEC 9-6 (.600).

So going on actual DATA, the PAC-10 lead the non-conference head-to-head meeting between the two conferences over the past 10 years which is much more accurate representation of the balance of power.

What leads you to believe otherwise? Do you normally use anything other than concrete data to make your opinions?

This year the PAC-10 has a better bowl record than the SEC. Also, last year, the PAC-10 had a very respectable 4-2 record vs. the SEC's 7-2 record.

Can you offer some hard evidence or data to back up your argument?

yes I think all the little conf should be included in the BCS, but Utah had the help of Bamas off line and Urban Meyer, Utah is good enough to be a top 10 team but the conf is full of panseys, Utah would not be able to do what they did to Bama against the Gators, but we will never know, we need a playoff at least 16 teams that is my view and the Tide did way above what was expected with the depth and youth of our team next year may be the year to be in the NC

I agree..Utah is good but not at all number one. They beat a badly overrated Alabama team.

the Tide wasn't over rated theyvare a top 5 team no depth on the offensive line and so many freshman playing, a really great highschool team playing Utah and that line we had was as good as the one we had last year that is why we coulnt stop them, that defense of Utahs was better than LSU . So we will have to see next year, to bad Utah and Hawaii won't be that good next year no offense

They weren't overrated. They totally deserved that # 1 spot when they had it.

Alabama has a great team. Utah haters trying to tear down the win by minimizing the competition.
Alabama will be BCS next year as well, if not in N.C. game..

I think we had Florida beat, we just let it slip away. Also, I didn't think Utah would be so good. They are a really great team.

You must not understand football, obviously. Everybody knows they weren't protecting him good enough. If you put Peyton Manning in for QB that night, he wouldn't have been able to do anything, either!
