As a Ravens fan, I wish the three of the quarterbacks best of luck. It is anyone's starting job at this point, since John Harbaugh is the new head coach.

Football is less than 2 months away. I can't wait for the new purple regime to take the field. I was one of those fans that wanted Billick back at least one more season. But I am now embracing the new commander. I am hoping that Cameron can work miracles with the offense and the aging defense will have a few plays left. Let the best QB start. Go Ravens.

Eventually one Qb is going to feel burned. I would like to see either KB or Smith be the starter. There's no way that Flacco is ready for smash mouth NFL football on game day in September.

Now, looking the Linebacker situation for the "Dash for the Cash." It will be just as ugly as the Food Network Challenge Competition. I say put Ray-Ray, Bart-Man & Thugs on three different crab boats on the Bearing Sea

I hope Troy and Kyle play well enough to keep Flacco on the bench all year. I would really like to see Boller stick it to his detractors and win a SB for us. Would not bet on it, but would really enjoy it.

I expect to see him play well enough to be Troy's backup this season though, and possibly be a servicable qb for years to come.

no way are we going to go all season with one qb. with our offensive line whoever starts will get hurt before week 17. vegas has our win total at 6 so were getting no respect from anyboby. we are also 8-1 to win the division and 75-1 to win the superbowl. the last time we were 75-1 we won the superbowl and i picked up 7 grand from sin city from it.

for the people who says "smith is the long term back up." i will laugh so hard when he leads the team to the playoffs and he turns out to be the starting QB next year. we will see

Brett Farve

257 Games
288 Interceptions
11 fumbles lost

Kyle Boller
53 Games
44 Interceptions (lower than Farve)
19 Fumbles (because of piss poor pass protection)

And why is this Boller's last season again?

It's Boller's job. Anyone else would be an awful error.

being a university of delaware student i am pulling for flacco this season, but i do not want to see him starting the year. hopefully troy or boller can be sufficient and play mistake-free enough that the team can be successful until flacco is ready

Boller or Flacco. Troy Smith is a joke. He is just too small. You can only be a running QB for so long. Just ask Mcnabb.

Do the ravens really think they can compete with 2
essentially rookie quarterbacks and Boller?
Then again evaluating quarterbacks hasn't been a
strength of the Ravens over the years.

The offense just doesn't move when Boller's in. I'll take interceptions if it means the offense moves. Constant three and outs are a huge problem.

Favre didn't have a problem moving the chains, even though he threw a ton of INTs

Trade Boller for Farve and throw in a 6th round pick. Farve starts and Smith cleans up. Flacco stays on the bench to learn and not have the pressure of being compared to Boller. Baltimore starts the new "era" with a real QB for the first time and Farve takes us to the playoffs and maybe further. Yes, the contract would have to be worked out but if they can get that done it would be something special. Look at how this team played against New England last year. I'm willing to bet having Favre in the huddle would elevate everyones game. Flacco needs to sit no matter what. If they play him this year and he flops we will take 3 steps back. Let him watch and learn from the best.

Ok so I'm dreaming but you can't tell me it wouldn't be awesome to see Favre run out in a Ravens uniform instead of Boller, McNair on crutches, a Walrus, Stoney, a cry baby, etc.

I'm sorry to disapoint you people, but chances are, Boller going 4-4, even on "short passes", will not be a fluke. With a better passing game, he will excel, because he has been improving every season as a passer, and as an all around QB. He is a fairly seasoned vet right now, and like it says, he DOES have everything most teams want in a QB. He is not destined to be a career backup....perhaps Flacco is?

I find it laughable that someone said Troy has "played bigger games" than either Boller or Flacco. OH REALLY? Have you ever heard of the California "Big Game"? You know....one of the biggest games in college football every year? Yeah...Boller won that, in grand fashion. He's also been involved in some pretty substantial NFL games over his marred career, including two record setting Monday Night Football games, one of them last season. He's had just about everything thrown at him that an NFL QB can experience. Has he always had success? No. But neither has our team, or offense as a whole.

Trust me, Cam can work wonders with QBs like Boller...he's done it before, and will likely do it again. And more importantly, unlike the other two candidates, Boller is not out for himself. Yes, he wants the starting job, but moreso than perhaps any other player on our roster, he embodies Harbaugh's philosophy of "TEAM FIRST". And that, in the end, along with his natural talent, is what is going to make him our starter again.

Sorry haters....this ain't Boller's last season in Baltimore.
